DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Production Associate – Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Clovis, NM.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support a Culture of Safety : By actively engaging in HSE protocols, reporting hazards, and using proper PPE, you will help create a safer workplace for yourself and your team.
  • Develop Precision Craftsmanship : Through hands-on training and coursework, you’ll build high standards of workmanship that contribute to the quality and reliability of manufacturing operations.
  • Enhance Equipment Reliability : Your involvement in preventive and corrective maintenance will directly support equipment uptime and reduce costly downtime.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement : By participating in TPM teams and improvement initiatives, you will help identify inefficiencies and propose solutions that streamline processes.
  • Ensure Product Quality : Performing quality inspections and adhering to process documentation ensures that products meet specifications and customer expectations.
  • Build Technical Expertise : Completing required training and on-the-job hours will improve your technical skills, preparing you to become a fully qualified Machinist.
  • Promote Environmental Responsibility : Recognizing how your work impacts the environment and taking steps to minimize negative effects supports the company’s sustainability goals.
  • Foster Team Collaboration : Communicating effectively and supporting your team helps build a positive, productive work environment where everyone can succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Commitment to Health and Safety : Proactively identify and report hazards, follow safety protocols, and model safe behaviors to help build a culture focused on injury prevention and well-being.
  • Understanding Safety Controls : Recognize and safely manage hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Foundational Manufacturing Knowledge : Apply your understanding of manufacturing processes to support improvements, adapt to changes, and contribute to operational efficiency.
  • Basic Tool and Fixture Design Awareness : Learn to select and use appropriate work-holding devices to ensure parts are securely positioned during machining, supporting precision and safety.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Minimal or no work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assembling and upfitting all engine models.
  • Responsible for material handling using PIV equipment (internal forklift certification required)

Skill, Education, or Experience Preferences that are nice to have but not required.
