The Officer, Operations Support Analyst 1 is an entry-level position responsible for providing operations support services, including but not limited to; record/documentation maintenance, storage & retrieval of records, account maintenance, imaging and managing customer queries in coordination with the Operations - Core Team. Additionally, the Ops Sup Analyst 1 serves as the liaison between operations staff, relationship managers, project managers, custodians and clients. The overall objective of this role is to provide day-to-day operations support in alignment with Citi operations support infrastructure and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reviewer / independent role responsibilities, taking full ownership of assigned activities and ensuring end-to-end completion within defined SLAs and quality standards.

  • Independently manage multiple operational tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures, quality benchmarks, and timelines.

  • Resolve customer inquiries and supervise escalated issues, delivering efficient and professional service to Citi’s clients.

  • Act as a liaison between operations staff, relationship managers, project managers, custodians, and clients to ensure seamless coordination.

  • Support process documentation activities, including preparation and periodic updates of operational documentation and change-related updates.

  • Prepare and maintain MIS reports; monitor productivity, quality metrics, and communicate updates to management and supported business units.

  • Apply analytical thinking to identify process gaps, support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to optimization recommendations.

  • Resolve complex operational issues using best practices and precedent, escalating risks and exceptions in a timely manner.

  • Assess operational and compliance risks when making business decisions, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards.

  • Support a diverse range of products, services, and projects under general supervision, following established systems and procedures.

  • Ensure timely escalation of issues, errors, and exceptions, and support investigation and root-cause analysis activities.

  • Demonstrate strong PowerPoint and presentation skills, including preparation of professional slides for management and stakeholder presentations.

  • Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, customer focus, and professionalism in all interactions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or MBA (preferred)

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in banking operations or operational process management.

  • Preferably with knowledge in macro or SQL

  • Experience in payment processing, sanctions screening, or accounting functions preferred.

  • Good understanding of balance sheet concepts is an added advantage.

  • Demonstrated strengths across Risk, Controls, and Client Excellence.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work UK and US shift timings, including rotational or flexible shifts based on business needs.

  • Ability to understand and read any one foreign language such as Malay, Thai, Greek, or Spanish is an added advantage.
