Job Description
The Global FP&A Business Manager will report to the Global Head of FP&A Business Execution and is a senior management level position responsible to drive the overall administrative activities of the function. The Business Manager is accountable for coordination and management of the business financials, employee headcount and other financial metrics. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. The Business Manager is expected to manage ad hoc projects as necessary. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive administrative, operational, and quality improvements through partnership with internal teams
- Manage financial control by applying a comprehensive understanding of the department Profit & Loss (P&L), including appropriate accruals, client allocations, the impact of capitalization, recovery and fixed price contracts in order to improve operational efficiency and productivity
- Responsible for all cross product administrative duties in conjunction with the team, including financial and staffing matters
- Ensure headcount is accurate, real estate is inventoried and planned, and onboarding and termination of resources are managed
- Analyze employee engagement metrics (VoE) and develop plan to address in partnership with HR and senior leadership
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement events including town halls and other employee events throughout the year
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry highly preferred
- Knowledge and expertise in Program Management, including Project Management and/or management reporting and analysis
- Significant experience working in a role with multiple senior executive stakeholders
- Ability to translate vision into executable plans
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function
- Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others
- Comfortable structuring and executing own workstream and deliverables, especially when presented with only general guidance; knows how to take limited direction and respond with highly effective materials and analysis
- Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions
- Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and operates with a high level of integrity
