Who We Are and The Importance of the Role

This pivotal Sales role is dedicated to driving Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) revenue growth within Citi's Commercial Subsidiaries Group (CSG) in Western Europe. You will be responsible for cultivating relationships and expanding our footprint with subsidiaries of large multinational corporations headquartered outside of Europe. The focus will be on proactively identifying new revenue streams and optimizing cash flows, leading competitive RFP processes, and significantly deepening wallet penetration for these strategic clients. The successful candidate will be accountable for achieving ambitious annual TTS revenue growth targets for CSG companies, alongside meticulous sales performance oversight. This is an experienced individual contributor position, demanding a proven ability to manage a diverse portfolio of complex client relationships and navigate senior stakeholder expectations, all while delivering rapid and sustainable growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow new commercial business within Western Europe,
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in solution-based selling.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive expertise in all treasury and cash management offerings, both internal to the bank and across the broader market.
  • Actively contribute to critical sub-product development and strategic workstreams that underpin business success.
  • Evaluate complex issues to identify potential impact, take proactive mitigation steps, recommend strategic solutions, and develop approaches by thoroughly weighing various alternatives.
  • Provide effective solutions for all escalated client issues and coordinate resolution to ensure an optimal client experience.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Teams and Coverage Banking to ensure seamless alignment in client planning, opportunity targeting, deal progression, and revenue growth.
  • Foster strong collaboration with peers across EMEA and other regions to effectively manage cross-regional, multi-regional, and global opportunities.
  • Regularly track deal pipelines and review implementation and revenue realization to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Cultivate productive working relationships with partner groups across regional and global product teams, and work with CCB coverage teams and Product teams to build client-centric solutions.
  • Proactively engage with Relationship Managers to drive business growth, owning cash deals from origination through to execution.
  • Identify cross-regional client and industry segments with potential cash opportunities and structure tailored product solutions.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, including events, to facilitate Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions in deepening client relationships, strengthening Citi's brand as an industry thought leader, and contributing to the growth of CCB Western Europe customer volumes and revenues in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Travel: 40%-60% (across Western Europe)

Skills that will help you in the Role:

  • Understanding of the Western Europe market, understanding market forces and drivers
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to influence decisions at all levels;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise conflicting deliverables both for clients and internally
  • Experience in managing client relationships, ability to influence others to support client needs
  • Know where to apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Communication skills for effective presentations, pitches and conversions
  • Ability to identify problems and solutions leveraging cash product propositions, business drivers, policies, customer needs and market trends
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and vision for future planning and growth
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank operations
  • Strong focus on delivery, ability to turn concepts into actionable solutions;
  • Ability to create longer term, positive trust and advisory based relationships will all the customers in the portfolio.
  • Open-mindedness to evaluate various alternative solutions to customer needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the core Cash Management product suite including payments, collections, and liquidity.
  • Technical skills: MS Office, PowerPoint knowledge, CRM applications and awareness of ERP and Technical integration will be a bonus
  • Fluency in one or more European language(s) will be complimentary

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years commercial banking experience and cash management knowledge
  • Track record of initiating, executing and growing client relationships
  • Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree

This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015
