Job Description

Visa Ventures is the Venture Capital arm of Visa, responsible for identifying relevant sectors where equity investments can advance Visa’s commercial or strategic aims and then sourcing, diligencing, negotiating, supporting, and monitoring the companies that form Visa’s portfolio.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Portfolio Value Creation & Operations, to act as a strategic bridge between Visa and our portfolio companies. In this role, you will identify opportunities at portfolio companies to create value and then make it happen. You will serve as a central hub, unlocking mutually beneficial opportunities and producing strategic insights by connecting portfolio companies with Visa’s vast network, products, and business units. Visa executives and portfolio companies will see you as a key part of Visa’s corporate venture arm.

Crucially, you will also serve as the operational backbone of the portfolio. By managing the quarterly engagement and reporting process, you will ensure we have the financial insights and performance data necessary to make informed strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic Engagement & Value Creation

  • Relationships That Produce Results: Build relationships with key portfolio companies, ensuring deep alignment and helping them navigate the Visa ecosystem to identify and seize opportunities. Partner with companies, Visa executives and Board Observers to understand the nuances of our portfolio.
  • Drive Commercial Impact: Develop structured and scalable plans to create value for Ventures Portfolio Companies - including opportunities that enhance Visa’s capabilities and sales.
  • Synthesize Insights: Translate engagement findings and performance data into clear, compelling narratives for Visa’s leadership, highlighting strategic trends, risks, and new opportunities for collaboration. Prepare and present company-specific and portfolio-wide insights that matter.

Portfolio Operations & Performance Analysis

  • Manage Portfolio Health: Manage and improve the quarterly engagement process to systematically gather updates, track performance, and assess the overall health of the portfolio against strategic goals. Aggressively use Generative AI to produce automated dashboards and alerting that enable us to observe and act on portfolio situations
  • Integrated Financial Oversight: Collaborate closely with Accounting, Controllership, Legal, and Treasury to manage the flow of financial data and operational processes, ensuring the portfolio’s financial integrity
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Work with Board Observers and account managers to track quantitative and non-quantitative KPIs, using this data to derive actionable insights that influence future investment and partnership strategies

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
