The Corporate Communication team in Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands (AUNZPI) is a strategic and high performing function that reports into Visa’s Asia Pacific and Global Corporate Communication function, as well as local market leadership. What a Senior Director of Corporate Communication does at Visa:
As Head of the Corporate Communication function for the AUNZPI cluster, this is an exciting role that will enable you to develop, lead and execute the communication strategy, ensure alignment to business goals, and lead a team with a diverse portfolio across the geography.
The individual will help Visa achieve our business objectives through strategic communication programs that anticipate and manage the complexities of the cluster, while supporting business development. Leading a small team, the individual is expected to partner with senior business leaders and teams to advance the business agenda, manage and deliver strategic communication campaigns internally and externally, and act as an advisory point to business functions to support business objectives and drive growth across the region.
This Role:
Leads and owns the delivery of the overarching Corporate Communication strategy, liaising with senior stakeholders to understand business and functional strategies and ultimately translate those into a communication strategy that delivers business and scorecard objectives.
Develops, tracks and reports metrics aligned with AP Corporate Communication metrics for all key initiatives across external and internal communications to demonstrate performance and business impact.
Has accountability for programmatic thought leadership and reputation across AUNZPI that positions Visa as a partner of choice on key topics across the ecosystem – to consumers, merchants, banks, tech companies, governments and regulatory stakeholders – while balancing and/or managing sensitivities that come with a global brand and network-based business.
Leads the strategy for responding to or proactively engaging media and other external parties to maintain and enhance Visa’s reputation in the market, including leading on AUNZPI crisis communication in times of issues and crisis management.
Provides strategic advice and produces presentations, key messages and briefing materials for Country Managers and senior executives (eg. leading the creation of the Client Forum agenda and other AUNZPI -wide client engagement initiatives, to supporting media interviews for spokespeople).
Leads the conceptualisation and overall delivery of the Annual Market Kickoff and employee communications agenda, driving employee engagement and establishing Visa as a best place to work – internally and externally – in a way that retains and attracts talent.
Has accountability across all external and internal communication channels, including the delivery of All Staff meetings and whole-of-business communication, to drive our critical employee engagement agenda and support the organisation’s business objectives.
Leads and nurtures team members and contributes to leadership and mentoring of other team members outside of AUNZPI Corporate Communication.
Role models Visa Leadership Principles and creates impact as part of AP Corporate Communication Leadership Team and AUNZPI Leadership Team.
The successful candidate is one who will engage stakeholders and develop a well-thought comms plan aligned with business objectives, rally the team towards first-rate execution of plans while remaining nimble to deal with unexpected circumstances in a rapidly evolving industry.

Qualifications
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication (or similar)
- 15+ years’ communication experience, ideally with in-house and/or agency background
- Knowledge and experience in delivering strategic communication projects end-to-end
- Excellent verbal communication, including interpersonal and presentation skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to think big picture
- Commercial acumen
- Creative, curious, proactive and high-energy individual with an ability to self-start and drive to completion
- Passionate about the technology, banking and/or retail industries
