Work you'll do
The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) by leveraging innovative system engineering methods to define, design, develop, acquire, deploy, and sustain new or modified capabilities. The role involves integrating Deloitte solutions with client toolsets to enable digital mission analysis and developing technical solutions to complex business problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration and Architecture:
Implement integration architecture and maintain system security.
Develop and document technical and functional system designs.
Integrate new and existing technical solutions for business continuity and efficiency.
Digital Engineering Solutions:
Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for architecture, design, development, and testing.
Apply Human Systems Integration (HSI) principles in digital modeling.
Develop integrated System of Systems trade study models to evaluate capabilities on modernization roadmaps.
Technical Management:
Conduct technical and programmatic reviews to ensure compliance with technical standards and governance.
Manage system and process waivers and deviations.
Mission Analysis and Engineering:
Translate and analyze business problems to develop technical solutions.
Conduct mission analysis and engineering to support the deployment of modernized mission solutions.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze stakeholder requirements.
Refine use cases and user stories to ensure alignment with client needs.
Document solution capabilities and limitations.

Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within the defense sector
- Experience with digital engineering domains such as Aerospace, Transportation, Defense, etc.
- Hands-on experience with modeling and software languages (e.g., SysML, Python, JavaScript)
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
- Travel up to 30%
Preferred:
- Strong background in integration architecture and system security.
Proficiency in Agile Development, APIs, Web Services, and Systems Modeling. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with digital thread, operations analysis, artificial intelligence/machine learning.
- Knowledge of countering weapons of mass destruction (CBRNE threats).
