Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
Collaborates with other engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, test plans, and test procedures. Collaborates on the preparation of formal test reports. Works both individually and in a team environment.
This position may work nonstandard schedules such as extended hours or weekends, as required, by leadership.
This position in test will perform the following duties:
Support component and system test, including hardware, software, suppliers and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)
Provides coordination and focus for engineers from other groups involved in test
Provides coordination point for systems test and assists individual projects with their test tasks, including System Integration Lab (SIL) test support
System test on aircraft: Test Team may deploy integrators/testers to various projects for special assignments such as integrating and testing systems on aircraft at CONUS/OCONUS locations.
System test in government/military test facilities: Test Team may deploy integrators/testers to various projects for special assignments such as testing payloads in government/military test facilities and flight test ranges.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years experience with a bachelors degree in STEM or 3 years experience with a Master’s degree, or 0 years experience with PhD, in the following areas: Tactical radios / data link terminals such as PRC 117, PSC 5, MIDS LVT or MIDS JTRS, ARC 210, SADL/EPLRS Radio waveforms such as UHF/VHF LOS, SINCGARS, Have Quick, SATURN, ANW2, SATCOM IW, legacy DAMA & Dedicated SATCOM, MUOS, and CDL
- Tactical Data Links such as Link 16, JREAP, SAT J, VMF, SADL, EPLRS and CoT
- Configuring and troubleshooting networks
- System level test planning, implementation, documentation and reporting
- Years of experience as an integrated product team lead, demonstrating the ability to plan, estimate, organize, integrate and lead technical activities across test engineering disciplines, along with the ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) and motivate people to work as an integrated team.
- A current /active DOD secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aircraft communication system integration and communications flight test support
- Experience with test tools such as TIGER, GM, BOSS, LMS, JRE, NSITE, ADSI, VTT, Amp GUI, SADL Host Driver
- Systems engineering “V” model
- System Administration of LINUX/UNIX and Windows operating systems
- Security+ and/or Network+ certifications
- Experience with handling COMSEC/Crypto materials, including Simple Key Loaders (SKLs)
- Experience working directly with government/military personnel at government/military facilities

Experience with aircraft military combat ID systems such as Mode 4 and Mode 5

Experience with Agile SW development process
Salary Range: $100,300 - $150,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
