Master Scheduler   Optum State Government Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Master Scheduler.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crafting, and maintaining compelling, compliant schedules.  This role's focus area.  The building and maintaining of schedules/workplans in support of state government solutions projects and programs.

 

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

 

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Workplan/Schedules Development for Submission with RFP/RFI'
    • Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs), and other team members to develop and maintain high-quality schedules that support our state government solutions
    • Understand and define work strategies, aligning tasks with resources to deliver desired client outcomes and reflected in the schedule
    • Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders to manage schedule build effectively
    • Effectively communicate project outcomes and deliverables to clients based on the established project schedule
    • Ensure all schedules and contract deliverables fully comply with internal policies, customer, and industry requirements
  • Develop/ Manage - Integrated Project Schedule Center of Excellence - COE
    • Standards & Governance -Develop and enforce standardized scheduling methodologies (Critical Path, Agile).  Defne scheduling policies, templates and procedures
    • Training and Capability building -Provide training and certification programs for schedulers /project managers. Build organization capability in schedule management and analysis
    • Quality Assurance -Review and audit project schedules for accuracy, completeness and alignment to project objectives 
    • Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Track schedule performance across the portfolio
    • Knowledge Management - Capture and share lessons learned, best practices and innovations in scheduling.   Maintain repository of historical schedule data for benchmarking

Required Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, preferably in a complex, multi-project environment
  • 3+ years of working hands-on with all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
  • 3+ years of data gathering/analysis and writing system requirements
  • 3+ years maintaining project schedule for government DDI projects
  • Solid understanding of project management principles (PMP certification required)
  • Understanding of Agile and Change Management processes in relation to scheduling
  • Proficiency with MS Project skilled in task sequencing, resource allocation, and dependency management

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) session
  • Healthcare Information Exchange, EDI, Healthcare Industry experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proficiency with MS Visio

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
