We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Analyst, Fraud Ops (Internal Job Title: Fraud Ops Analyst based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia)

The Fraud Operations Specialist is an integral entry-level role within Commercial Cards fraud operations, focused on maintaining transactional security across multiple regions. This specialist is responsible for conducting initial fraud alert reviews, performing early fraud detection activities, and ensuring meticulous case documentation. Utilizing established procedures and advanced fraud detection systems, the role identifies suspicious activity, applies necessary temporary blocks, and escalates potential fraud risks, thereby safeguarding Citi's interests and minimizing financial losses.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Conduct comprehensive first-level fraud alert reviews, including in-depth spend-pattern assessments, velocity checks, and Merchant Category analysis.

  • Implement temporary blocks on accounts as required and efficiently forward cases for callout verification to prevent further exposure.

  • Accurately document all case decisions and actions within system notes, adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Support the processing of Two-Way SMS/Email alerts according to defined workflows, ensuring timely and effective communication.

  • Perform initial screenings of disputed transactions, verify the completeness of cross departmental communication (PACT) checklists, and escalate any anomalies detected.

  • Assist in the analysis of fraud patterns by identifying common merchants or acquirer behaviors to proactive enhance detection methods.

  • Ensure all alerts are handled promptly and within specified Turnaround Time requirements while adhering to Quality Control standards.

  • Strictly follow all fraud controls and escalation protocols to safeguard Citi and client interests, ensuring regulatory compliance.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 1 - 2 years relevant experience is preferred but FRESH GRADUATES are qualified

  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to interpret complex data sets.

  • Proficiency in data analytics, Excel, and fraud reporting tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work on flexible shift. 24/7 shifting schedule. Expected to work on holidays and weekends

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent

  • Diploma holder with relevant experience can be considered
