Job Description

The Business Development Manager represents the Allergan Aesthetics product portfolio to targeted customers and thrives in a fast-paced sales cycle environment. This role is pivotal in building and nurturing new customer relationships, ensuring their successful handoff to in-field teams. The manager is responsible for achieving or exceeding sales objectives through strategic account analysis, understanding aesthetic goals, market dynamics, and implementing consultative selling skills, as well as marketing plans.

The role is also tasked with sparking interest among new and emerging customers for partnership with Allergan Aesthetics, qualifying new leads, educating on products and programs, differentiating competitive products, fostering product adoption, and facilitating portfolio growth through omnichannel communications. Moreover, this role actively contributes to enhancing customer loyalty and experience.

This territory covers VIC, SA and WA with minimal travel requirements. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets in the assigned territory.
  • Identify growth opportunities and expand product portfolio utilization with existing accounts, launching new products, indications, and programs.
  • Develop and maintain an effective territory sales plan, achieving call reach and frequency targets.
  • Increase customer knowledge, business development skills, understanding of Allergan Aesthetics’ value proposition, and awareness of aesthetic products and programs.
  • Conduct impactful tele-detailing, e-detailing, and web meetings using digital sales aids, with a focus on building lasting customer relationships.
  • Build, expand, qualify, segment, educate, and nurture new and emerging accounts, forming strong foundations for ongoing relationships.
  • Primarily engage with customers through virtual interactions; however, conduct face-to-face calls when necessary to facilitate and expedite impact.
  • Collaborate with the field salesforce to effectively transition high-potential accounts from virtual to face-to-face engagements when needed, ensuring seamless handover and continuity in customer management.
  • Provide vacant territory support to field salesforce as needed.
  • Support and execute remote training workshops and assist with events in the territory and area.
  • Monitor and analyse sales dashboards and critical KPIs to optimize sales results.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and timely, including Veeva call entry, periodic business plans, monthly expense reports, segmentation and targeting, territory account profiles, and customer database management.
  • Pre-plan sales calls and manage time efficiently to ensure maximum customer contact and highest level of customer service.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of the industry and competitive products.
  • Participate fully in team meetings, National Sales meetings, and training and development activities.
  • Develop and maintain supportive, productive, and effective relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Participate in industry-related trade shows/meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable quality and regulatory guidelines as an integral part of business operations.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and represent the Company with high integrity, ethics, honesty, loyalty, and professionalism at all times.
  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per Allergan’s policies and procedures.
  • Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and always promote a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to Allergan’s / AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
  • Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.

Qualifications

  • Track record of consistently delivering sales results
  • Excellent consultative selling skills and strong business acumen
  • Positive, self-starter with a growth mindset
  • Customer-centricity with demonstrated creativity in problem solving and customer solutions
  • Ability to analyse sales data, find opportunities and risks, and harness insights to improve sales results
  • Outstanding team player with proven ability to build rapport, align on mutually beneficial outcomes and manage conflict with colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills and an ability to develop relationships remotely via telephone and digital interactions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities including strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to embrace AbbVie’s Ways of Working, including highest ethical and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, and  Veeva or similar
  • 2+ years of sales experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry (preferably in Aesthetic Medicine) and/or proven track record of selling in a fast-paced, competitive environment
  • Virtual, multimedia and/or omnichannel engagement experience strongly preferred
  • Background in marketing or customer service would be an asset
