Position Summary:
Step into a high‑impact leadership role where your technical expertise and commitment to reliability directly influence the safety, performance, and long‑term success of our operations. As our Maintenance Manager, you will champion a proactive, excellence‑driven maintenance culture that elevates equipment reliability and empowers teams to excel.
In this role, you will lead a team of technicians, build and uphold maintenance standards, strengthen technical competencies, and ensure equipment is optimized throughout its lifecycle. You’ll drive strategies that minimize unplanned downtime, improve asset performance, and support the plant’s financial goals through smart planning, continuous improvement, and disciplined budget management.
Your leadership will extend across Planners, Supervisors, contractors, and maintenance technicians as you promote safe work practices, enhance maintenance capability, and deliver the reliability our operations depend on. This role offers the opportunity to inspire, mentor, and shape a maintenance organization ready for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s growth.
*Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting leadership, with emphasis on Allen‑Bradley and automated systems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing maintenance team focused on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Food Safety, Quality, regulatory, and audit requirements (NSF, SQF, internal standards).
- Oversee capital projects, equipment installations, reliability initiatives, and strategic purchasing.
- Manage third‑party service providers, OEMs, and vendors to ensure timely, cost‑effective maintenance support.
- Drive continuous improvement using Kaizen, 5S, BDA, SPC, and root‑cause analysis tools.
- Plan and execute engineering and maintenance projects that enhance reliability, safety, and operational performance.
- Serve as the site’s technical authority—diagnosing complex issues, eliminating chronic failures, and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive environment grounded in transparency, accountability, and strong cross‑functional partnerships.
- Lead teams through change, prioritizing effectively and navigating operational complexity.
- Use maintenance and production data to identify trends, optimize asset performance, and inform decisions.
- Strengthen technician skills through targeted training and competency‑building programs.
- Influence Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to align on reliability and maintenance priorities.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Set expectations, hold teams accountable, and promote a safety‑first, results‑driven culture.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and resilience when addressing urgent maintenance challenges.
- Organize and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commit to personal and team development through coaching, follow‑through, and continuous learning.
- Support business needs with schedule flexibility, including occasional off‑shift or weekend work.
- Model proactive ownership of equipment, processes, and team performance.
- Foster a positive team culture built on respect, engagement, and open communication.
- Perform hands‑on mechanical, electrical, or systems troubleshooting as needed.
- Perform additional duties to support plant operations and long‑term business goals.
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience with a strong maintenance leadership background will also be considered.
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing a Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) function, with proven success in developing teams and driving maintenance performance.
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally within the CPG or food industry, with deep knowledge of production equipment, utilities, and plant operations.
- Demonstrated track record of maintenance leadership or plant engineering excellence, including preventive/predictive maintenance, reliability practices, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, regulatory standards, professional publications, and business reports, and translate them into actionable maintenance plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation.
- Experience with process automation and control systems; hands-on knowledge of Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix PLCs is highly preferred.
