Having already advanced a number of drug candidates, we are excited to continue growing our portfolio and increasing our impact on patients’ lives.

A key part of achieving our vision is working with exceptional people, and we are now seeking an enthusiastic and talented Research Associate to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or further develop their career in an industrial laboratory research environment, working on innovative projects while building a broad range of technical and scientific skills. The successful candidate will thrive in a small, dynamic team and be eager to contribute across all aspects of research at DJS.

In this role, you will carry out laboratory experiments using cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, imaging and a variety of assay techniques to support therapeutic antibody discovery/development across DJS projects. You will play a key role as part of the team, contributing to the delivery of life changing therapeutics.

We are looking for a practical, organised and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in getting the job done efficiently. Previous experience across a range of laboratory techniques is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

At DJS, we are passionate about fostering innovative scientists and delivering cutting-edge science. The successful applicant will have excellent opportunities for career development, whether in scientific research or laboratory/operations management. In addition, the role offers exposure to all aspects of R&D and to the broader business both at DJS and across AbbVie.

  • Day-to-day laboratory management as part of the team e.g. maintaining a safe and clean working laboratory environment, re-ordering laboratory consumables
  • Establishing and maintaining quality sample archives
  • Gathering, analysing and presenting data from a variety of sources to the wider team and organization
  • Critical and impartial review of self and peer generated laboratory data
  • Maintenance of laboratory experimental records

Qualifications

  • Have or be on track for a BSc of 2:1 level or higher with intercalated year in industrial/academic research and/or an MSc/MRes or higher degree with significant lab experience in a relevant discipline (such as Biology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Cell biology, Immunology or Natural Sciences)
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to drug discovery and drug development research
