Job Details
Tink was founded in 2012, and a decade later became part of Visa in 2022. Tink was created with the aim of changing the banking industry for the better. We have built Europe’s most robust open banking platform – with the broadest, deepest connectivity and powerful services that create value out of the financial data. We offer the tools that allow anyone – from big banks and fintech to startups – to build the future of financial services across Europe.
The Product and Business Enablement area at Tink has a clear mission: to build the foundational platform services that power our entire product ecosystem. We are a tightly knit team with product managers, backend and frontend engineers, platform architects, and data specialists. By building robust, scalable, and well-designed platform services, we enable product teams across Tink to deliver exceptional value to customers and end users.
What you will do:
We are looking for a Product Manager to own and drive the User Platform – a critical backend service that manages user identity, authentication, session management, and user lifecycle across Tink's product suite. This platform underpins how we identify, authenticate, and serve millions of end users around the world, providing the foundation for personalised experiences, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Define and own the product roadmap for the User Platform, balancing technical debt, scalability requirements, and business needs
- Work closely with backend engineers to define requirements for APIs, data models, and service architectures
- Collaborate with product teams across Tink to understand their user identity and authentication requirements, translating these into platform capabilities
- Partner with security, compliance, and legal teams to ensure the platform meets regulatory requirements (GDPR, PSD2, etc.) and security standards
- Define service-level objectives (SLOs) in partnership with engineering, monitor platform health, and drive improvements to reliability, performance, and scalability
- Manage platform dependencies and integrations with third-party identity providers, authentication services, and internal systems
- Create clear technical documentation and API specifications to enable seamless integration by internal product teams
- Balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders while maintaining platform stability and forward progress
- Drive data-informed decision-making by defining key metrics, monitoring platform usage, and analysing user behaviour patterns
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- We are looking for a technically minded product manager who can bridge the gap between engineering teams and business requirements. You should be comfortable working with backend systems, APIs, and platform architecture while maintaining a clear focus on delivering value to internal and external stakeholders.
- Product management experience at a technology company, with at least some of that time focused on platform, infrastructure, or backend services
- Strong technical background – you should be comfortable reading API documentation, understanding system architecture diagrams, and discussing technical trade-offs with engineers
- Experience with API design, service-oriented architectures, or platform development is highly desirable
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation concepts (OAuth, JWT, session management, etc.)
- Familiarity with identity management, user lifecycle management, or related domains is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing requirements and manage platform roadmaps
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – you'll be creating technical documentation, API specs, and stakeholder updates
- Data-driven decision-making approach with experience defining and tracking platform metrics
- Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, or cloud infrastructure is beneficial
