At Autodesk Informed Design, our mission is to help companies embrace Industrialized Construction through the convergence of Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), and Manufacturing (MFG). We are transforming how buildings are designed and manufactured through scalable digital workflows and connected cloud platforms.
We are looking for a self-motivated Software Engineer to join our team.
Our organizational ecosystem comprises cloud services, desktop add-ins, and web application and client components. In this role, you will play a key role in developing components and services across the Informed Design organization. You will solve complex problems of diverse scope by taking a new perspective on existing solutions and applying best practices in practical situations. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and grow your technical depth while delivering meaningful customer value.

This position can be based anywhere in Canada and is a remote-friendly role.
ResponsibilitiesInvolved with all aspects of software development, working to create and maintain the most reliable, secure, performant, and efficient web/ desktop applications and high-throughput services for our customers.
Partner closely with product managers, product owners, software architects and other stakeholders to iteratively turn high-level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally and continually.
Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives.
Contribute to technical discussions, implementation and architecture by leveraging established software design patterns and best practices.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; participate in deployments and on-call rotations.
Contribute to system observability, reliability, and performance improvements.
Leverage modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to improve productivity and quality.
Continuously learn and apply new technologies and patterns that improve product and team outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
3+ years of hands-on software development experience with applications (desktop or web) and cloud services development
Experience building software projects with Typescript, C# and/or Python
Experience with building secure APIs, Micro-services and Desktop applications
Experience with Relational database technologies, e.g. Postgres
Hands-on experience with unit and automated testing tools such as Cypress, JMeter, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to converse with multiple audiences, not limited to SW Developers, Managers, etc.
Self-directed and a strong sense of ownership with the ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS services and technologies (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS)
Experience building or working with CAD applications such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other CAD + AEC design software.
Experience applying AI or automation to improve testing, operational efficiency and developer productivity.
Exposure to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
Strong preference for simple solutions first over complex solutions.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $88,000 and $128,700. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.Diversity & Belonging
