Job Description

Purpose
The Procurement Specialist II is responsible for executing end-to-end procurement processes in alignment with business goals and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and contributing to supplier diversity and sustainability.  This role supports the Procurement Manager and plays a key part in executing tactical supplier performance management activities, implementing continuous improvement projects, and driving day-to-day supplier excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end execution of the Tactical Supplier Performance Management program for assigned suppliers, ensuring every stage from contract compliance, invoice validation and supplier performance evaluation is delivered with accuracy, transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of supplier contracts, confirming that each deliverable, pricing arrangement, schedule commitment, and contractual obligation, is fully met. Maintain detailed records of compliance and proactively address any deviations or unmet obligations.
  • Perform the invoice validation process for suppliers, comparing submitted invoices against approved contract terms, agreed quantities, timeframes and accepted deliverables. Authorize payments only after precise verification and act quickly to resolve any disputes or errors.
  • Measure and monitor supplier performance using agreed performance indicators. Improve supplier service levels by integrating agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Lead formal performance review meetings, capture outcomes and track follow‑up actions to closure.
  • Execute supplier management activities in alignment to category SRM strategy, fostering a collaborative and innovative approach to supplier interactions, including negotiations and workshops.
  • Adhere to risk mitigation plans developed in collaboration with Category Managers, providing tactical input on supplier performance and relaying the identification of procurement risks to safeguard the organization’s interest and maintain operational resilience.
  • Responsible for Data analysis and administrative support for tactical supplier performance management including supplier metrics and research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, monthly/quarterly reporting of KPI’s, savings reporting, etc.
  • Execute continuous improvement projects, embracing and furthering a spirit of adaptability and innovation in procurement operations.
  • Respond promptly and comprehensively to ad‑hoc data requests, performance analyses and reporting needs. Undertake additional tasks as assigned that contribute to the success of the Procurement team and its objectives
  • Actively enable team goals, ensuring performance targets and objectives are delivered successfully.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. In lieu of degree, minimum 4 years equivalent work experience may suffice.
  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related business or operations function.
  • Required: Previous experience in procurement activities including tactical supplier performance management.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Outlook.
  • Required: Strong attention to detail
  • Impactful executive functioning abilities and autonomous work ethic, maintaining efficient performance in challenging situations and building consensus in decision-making.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills combined with a solution-oriented mindset, enabling creative approaches and clear communication at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to lead communication strategy to all team members, stakeholders, management, and suppliers
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
