Skills and Competencies

  • Strong data analysis skills, with some experience using statistical software
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings to non‑technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Motivated, responsible, and able to work independently without daily supervision
  • Attention to detail and solid problem‑solving skills
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency
  • Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Economics or a related field (final year of Bachelor’s or first year of Master’s)
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Source, organize, and analyze macroeconomic and financial data to support ongoing research and forecasting activities
  • Build and maintain structured datasets by gathering data from public sources or querying internal databases for specific research needs
  • Conduct analysis on custom datasets and produce concise written commentary that explains economic developments to a broad audience
  • Contribute to the development of simple statistical or economic models, including data testing, model design, and problem solving during estimation
  • Support larger econometric projects using tools such as EViews, R, or Python, with opportunities to expand programming skills
  • Assist in preparing content for publications, presentations, and topical analysis produced by the Economics team

About the team
Moody’s Analytics provides comprehensive economic data, forecasts, and research to support the needs of governments, financial institutions, investors, corporates, and other organizations worldwide. Our standardized and integrated modelling framework enables clients to compare and assess economic conditions and outlooks across global, regional, and local levels. Our analysis feeds into the Moody’s Analytics Global Model, which incorporates the most accurate and timely information from original sources. The model produces forecasts for more than 100 countries and over 12,000 economic and financial variables.
The EMEA Economics Research Team produces forecasts, scenarios, and thematic research for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Country analysts are responsible for monthly baseline and alternative scenario forecasts, analysis of key data releases, preparation of research on topical economic issues, and regular engagement with clients. They also develop independent thematic research and contribute to discussions on regional economic developments.
