Introduction to the Team:

At Expedia Group, we are passionate about creating exceptional traveler and partner experiences through data-driven insights. Our Research team plays a critical role in shaping the future of global travel by uncovering what matters most to our customers and translating those insights into meaningful product and brand decisions.

As part of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering partners to inform decision-making across the product lifecycle. We value rigor, curiosity, and a strong point of view grounded in evidence.

In this Role, you will:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research activities, including usability testing (lab and remote), surveys, interviews, and analysis of behavioral data with guidance from senior researchers.

  • Analyze research data with supervision, applying foundational statistical reasoning and structured qualitative synthesis techniques.

  • Contribute to integrating multiple data sources (e.g., survey data, usability findings, product metrics) into cohesive, actionable insights.

  • Communicate findings clearly through written summaries and presentations to product and design partners.

  • Demonstrate curiosity about user behavior, product performance, and emerging research methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, HCI, Statistics, Sociology, Human Factors, Data Science) or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience conducting or supporting user research studies (academic, internship, or industry).

  • Ability to moderate usability sessions or field research with guidance.

  • Foundational quantitative skills, including basic statistical concepts and beginner-level SQL.

  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and/or quantitative data with supervision.

  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and product development processes.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working across both qualitative and quantitative methods within a single project.

  • Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics), analytics dashboards, or experimentation frameworks.

  • Experience using SQL, R, or Python for intermediate data exploration.

  • Experience working on AI-enabled products or intelligent systems, with an understanding of how users interact with these tools.

  • Familiarity with collaborative design tools (e.g., Figma).

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $87,500.00 to $122,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $140,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.The total cash range for this position in New York is $94,500.00 to $132,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $151,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. The total cash range for this position in Austin is $87,500.00 to $122,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $140,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
