Job Purpose

The Power Electronics Expert will serve as the technical authority for the design, analysis, and optimization of MW‑scale Power Conversion Systems (PCS) used in industrial and grid‑connected applications. This role requires deep mastery of AC/DC conversion, advanced power electronics topologies, semiconductor technologies, and liquid‑cooled high‑power systems.

The expert will act as the reference point for complex technical decisions, advanced simulations, design reviews, and innovation initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical expert for MW‑class PCS architecture, including topology selection, modulation strategies, control algorithms, and protection schemes.
  • Perform advanced electrical, thermal, and EMC simulations to guide design choices and ensure system robustness.
  • Develop and optimize liquid‑cooling solutions for high‑density converters (cold plates, coolant loops, heat exchangers).
  • Define technical specifications for power modules, magnetics, semiconductors, and passive components.
  • Conduct in‑depth root‑cause analyses and propose corrective actions for complex field or validation issues.
  • Support design teams during critical phases: schematic definition, PCB layout reviews, thermal design, and system integration.
  • Lead technical reviews (design reviews, FMEA/DFMEA, reliability assessments) and ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, UL, CE, EMC, grid‑connection requirements).
  • Collaborate with suppliers on advanced components (SiC devices, high‑performance magnetics, thermal interfaces).
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and innovation programs in high‑power conversion.
  • Provide expert support during prototype testing, commissioning, and customer‑specific adaptations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in high‑power AC/DC converter design for industrial or grid applications.
  • Deep expertise in semiconductor technologies (IGBT, SiC MOSFET, GaN), magnetics, and digital control.
  • Proven experience with liquid‑cooled power modules and thermal management of high‑density converters.
  • Strong background in grid‑connected power electronics (harmonics, EMC, protection, control loops).
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, COMSOL, LTspice.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and guide teams through high‑stakes engineering challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MW‑scale converters, grid‑forming inverters, or industrial AC/DC platforms.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet,…).
  • Familiarity with certification processes for industrial power equipment.
  • Experience with laboratory testing, power benches, and high‑power validation environments.

What This Role Offers

  • A key expert position with strong influence on technical decisions and product direction.
  • The opportunity to shape next‑generation MW‑scale PCS technologies.
  • A highly technical environment focused on innovation and high‑performance engineering.
  • Direct contribution to industrial electrification and advanced power conversion systems.
