MD Ally is seeking an Intake Specialist and Care Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for patients and help set the tone for their care experience. This role works closely with physicians to ensure every patient has access to high-quality care, regardless of location, socioeconomic status, or technological literacy.
Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver excellent customer service with every patient interaction
- Clearly explain the onboarding process and ensure patients are successfully connected to the telehealth platform
- Accurately collect and input patient demographic information, insurance details, and other relevant data into electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Verify and update patient information to maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to complete onboarding workflows and address patient concerns or special requirements
- Educate patients on accessing the patient portal and other technology tools to enhance their experience
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, and maintain confidentiality and security of patient information
- Communicate effectively with patients and/or family members to help them navigate in-network and community resources identified in their after-visit summary (AVS) care plans
- Recognize and escalate complex issues to appropriate personnel for resolution when necessary
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 3-5 years of experience as a medical receptionist, healthcare call center representative, 911 dispatcher, or similar role
- Hold an additional certificate or degree in healthcare administration (preferred)
- Work effectively as part of a healthcare team and collaborate with administrative and clinical staff
- Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills to create a positive experience for patients and families
- Handle inquiries, complaints, and difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Are proficient in using computer systems and EHR software
- Have strong attention to detail and can accurately navigate, collect, and input patient information into various software applications
- Are familiar with basic medical and insurance terminology
- Show sensitivity to diverse patient populations and interact respectfully with individuals from various backgrounds
- Are a highly motivated self-starter with a drive to achieve or surpass organizational KPIs and goals
- Are willing and able to adapt to changes in process, technology, or responsibilities within a startup environment
- Can work weekends and occasional weekdays
Total Compensation
The hourly wage for this role is $19 - $22 per hour.
