Citi’s Client organization is looking for Summer Intern to join the Research team in London June-August 2026 for 10 weeks. Citi provides world-class products and financing solutions for corporations, governments, and institutional and retail investors through our dominant underwriting capabilities. Our global platform, broad product knowledge and on-the-ground local markets expertise coupled with complementary strengths in technology and distribution allows us to offer clients a wide range of comprehensive financial solutions. Your time here will look something like this...

• Working with a team covering a specific industry or macro area for the entirety of the summer, including involvement in the day-to-day responsibilities of an intern.

• Develop a thorough understanding of financial markets. Learn to identify and analyse trends with the goal of producing cutting edge research and actionable recommendations.

• Learn to collect, outline and explain information giving insights that drive creative solutions.

• Take on various projects the team assigns.

• Create, update and maintain economic or financial spreadsheets, quantitative models and databases of assigned companies.

• Refresh marketing handouts and assist with ad-hoc client requests.

• Shadow Analysts by attending company and industry meetings as well as industry conferences.

The 10 week summer analyst program starts in June and begins with an introduction to Citi and Research. You will then join a team where you will gain a experience by working on a projects as well as attending speaker presentations. High performing summer analysts will be considered for a full time position in 2027 after graduation.

Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. 

The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016.  

Under the Certification Regime, Citi UK regulated entities (Citi entities) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to carry out their role.  

Under the guidance provided by the FCA and PRA, firms should have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety:

•    Financial soundness 
•    Competence and capability 
 
In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above. 

This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
