As a part of Prime Brokerage, Morgan Stanley’s industry-leading Derivatives Clearing team manages the clearing of Futures, Options, and Over-the-Counter (OTC) Swaps at Clearing Houses globally. Derivatives Clearing services are utilized by a variety of institutional client types leveraging both speculative and hedging strategies across a wide range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, FX, and commodities. Our team works directly with clients to ensure an optimal client experience and product offering, providing clients with access to the markets and information necessary to further enhance their portfolios.
CCO Role:
The goal of the Client Coverage Oversight role within Derivatives Clearing is to mitigate operational risk across the Derivatives Clearing business while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. The role serves as a strategic partner to internal teams and clients - providing insight, education, and best practices across products, markets, and processes critical to client success. The CCO acts as the primary liaison between the Derivatives Clearing business and key stakeholders (such as the Business Control Unit, Operations & Technology, Legal & Compliance, and Counterparty Risk) in order to drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and support business growth.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance control frameworks across Derivatives Clearing.
- Oversee projects aimed at identifying, managing, and mitigating operational risk.
- Monitor and analyze client activity through reporting tools to ensure adherence to firm standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to ensure client-facing teams and clients understand new rules, regulations, and sanctions impacting transactions and portfolios.
- Act as an operational subject matter expert for products, processes, and client strategies to support sales and relationship management teams in pitching, winning, and maintaining mandates.
- Engage directly with clients to provide education, insights, and best practices across a broad array of products and markets.
- Work closely with Ops and Tech teams to ensure platform stability, enhancements, and alignment with client needs and industry requirements.
- Act as the main liaison for operational efficiencies, risk mitigation, regulatory impact, and platform implementation.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Clearing & Prime Brokerage platforms.
- Support platform improvements and enhancements to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements.

Education / Experience:
- Undergraduate degree
- Extensive clearing, futures or cleared swaps, experience required (10+ years)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
