The Senior Electrical & Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical, automation, MES, and digital systems. Your expertise will be crucial in gaining deep process knowledge of the production lines and excelling in troubleshooting various issues. As a Senior Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will execute comprehensive end-to-end projects within the realm of electrical and automation engineering. This includes managing the entire project lifecycle, developing detailed technical documentation and specifications, overseeing the procurement process, programming systems, and conducting assembly and commissioning activities. In addition to project execution, your role will involve providing valuable technical expertise and training to operators and technicians. You will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and drive innovation in the field of electrical and automation engineering.
Responsibilities
Develop Engineering Capability (10%):
•Develop and deliver technical training materials to ensure personnel operating and maintaining E&A equipment are competent, safe, and efficient.
•Conduct competency assessments to evaluate the skills of the factory personnel.
•Provide guidance and support in enhancing the factory's technical capabilities.
Drive Process Improvements (20%):
•Gain deep understanding of production processes and act directly to continuously improve quality, safety, and efficiency while safeguarding technological know-how and competitive advantage.
•Identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance process performance.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process optimization initiatives.
Ensure Reliable Operation and Maintenance (20%):
•Participate in the implementation and execution of maintenance strategies, tools, and methodologies.
•Ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, instrumentation, process and supervisory control, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
•Utilize digital technologies to drive reliability and process improvements.
Manage Risk and Compliance (5%):
•Ensure compliance with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety, and product quality standards for all E&A installations.
•Maintain up-to-date E&A documentation, including electrical drawings, automation documentation, backups, and maintenance plans.
•Establish effective management of change processes to handle modifications involving E&A systems.
Promote Sustainability (10%):
•Contribute actively to factory sustainability objectives by identifying opportunities for energy and water savings.
•Track and report results of improvement projects related to sustainability and non-sustainability areas.
•Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives.
Manage Factory Asset Portfolio (5%):
•Contribute to the asset management strategy by anticipating end-of-life, obsolescence, and replacement requirements.
•Ensure timely stakeholder awareness for capital planning purposes related to E&A assets.
•Balance asset performance and cost competitiveness when making asset-related decisions.
Execute Industrialization Projects (30%):
•Lead and execute the Electrical and Automation part of capital investment projects, adhering to corporate and market standards.
•Ensure technical solutions meet quality standards, are delivered on time and within budget.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement industrialization projects.
Qualifications/ Certifications
•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
•Krones or Siemens Systems Preferred
•Professional Engineer license (P.E.) is a plus
•Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is a plus
Experiences
•Minimum 5 years' experience in the field of Electricity and Automation
•Preference for work on a manufacturing facility in the Food and Beverages industry, or other Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
•Knowledge of electrical distribution systems (low, medium and high voltage installations)
•Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards
•Knowledge of Instrumentation and Calibration process
•Good knowledge of automation systems and equipment (HMI - Human-Machine Interface, PLC - Programmable Logic Controller, Industrial networks, etc.).
•Knowledge on MES deployment (Manufacturing Execution System).
•Knowledge on Digital technologies implementation (e.g. Vision Systems, Data Analytics, Predictive Maintenance, etc.)
•Knowledge of food processing operations and technology.
•Knowledge of food safety and hygienic engineering
•Experience on participation in engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team
•Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
•Strong communication skills
