Compensation Range: 20.00-25.00 hourly

Job Purpose
We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineering Co‑op to join our Bellingham, WA engineering team. This role provides hands‑on experience supporting broadband outside plant power systems development. The Co‑op will contribute to test procedure creation, requirements documentation, design verification, process and test automation, data analysis, and general engineering lab operations.
This position is ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing degrees in electrical engineering or related technical fields. The Co‑op will work under the guidance of the Systems Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Requirements & Documentation
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and refining engineering requirements.
- Learn and apply Codebeamer tools to support requirements management workflows.
- Use AI‑supported methods—under engineer oversight—to improve clarity and structure in requirements and documentation.
- Develop or enhance theory‑of‑operation documents for power and control systems.
Testing & Validation
- Support development, revision, and execution of engineering test procedures.
- Participate in hands‑on lab testing, including test setup, measurement collection, and troubleshooting.
- Document results clearly and support test readiness activities.
Process & Test Automation
- Contribute to automation efforts through LabVIEW programming for product and subsystem testing.
- Execute LabVIEW‑based automated tests and maintain test scripts as assigned.
- Assist in improving automation workflows for systems such as XM Edge and related platforms.
Data Analysis
- Collect, format, and analyze engineering and field‑trial data.
- Support development of AI‑based tools used for enhancing data interpretation and reporting accuracy.
General Laboratory Support
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure proper operation of test benches.
- Assist with organizing test setups, verifying equipment readiness, and following EnerSys safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Working toward or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience reviewing or developing engineering requirements.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI productivity tools.
- Experience writing and executing engineering test procedures.
- Skills in data analysis, including data structuring and visualization.
- Exposure to power electronics testing or product qualification processes is beneficial.
- Experience with automated testing and LabVIEW programming, including object‑oriented approaches.
- Familiarity with NI (National Instruments) equipment and general electrical test instruments.
- Exposure to PCB design tools (such as Altium Designer) is a plus.
- Strong initiative, communication skills, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
