In this role, you’ll be hands‑on in the design, development, and testing of our GoSystem Tax product using proprietary development tools. You’ll work closely with a broad set of stakeholders—ranging from external taxing authorities to internal business and technology partners—to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements, and translate U.S. federal and state tax law changes into meaningful software enhancements.  You’ll collaborate daily with teammates based in the United States, Mexico City, and Hyderabad, India, contributing to a truly global development effort. A key part of your work will be applying a forward‑thinking mindset to research, interpret, and implement U.S. tax law changes well ahead of the traditional filing season. Depending on the project, you’ll take on a mix of technical implementation and testing analyst responsibilities, helping ensure customer and product needs are met while aligning with internal and external regulatory requirements. As a U.S. Tax Accountant, you’ll focus on low‑ to medium‑complexity U.S. federal and state tax projects, gaining exposure to real‑world compliance challenges and enterprise‑level tax software development.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a U.S. Tax Accountant, you will:

  • Collaborate with U.S.-based internal teams to stay informed on U.S. federal and state tax law changes by jurisdiction
  • Monitor IRS and state taxing authority guidance using Checkpoint and other authoritative sources to identify upcoming tax law and regulatory changes
  • Analyze U.S. tax forms, instructions, statutes, and regulations to ensure software content remains accurate and up to date
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of client‑facing interfaces, including input and output screens within the GoSystem Tax product
  • Implement approved tax law and product changes using internal development tools, including basic configuration or programming tasks as required
  • Document and communicate functional designs, business requirements, and system flow specifications to software engineering partners
  • Perform functional and regression testing to validate software changes
  • Develop user‑facing help content and collaborate with technical writers to publish accurate product documentation
  • Provide customer support as needed, including assisting with support during peak filing seasons in the spring and fall

About You

You’re a fit for the role of U.S. Tax Accountant if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Up to two years of recent U.S. tax preparation experience or experience providing technical or functional support for tax software users
  • Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills
