Job Details

This position is responsible for the comprehensive management of  Budgeting cycle, including the development, implementation, and oversight of the annual operating budget and multi-year financial forecasts. The role involves deep financial analysis, strategic collaboration with various business units, and the creation of insightful reports to support executive decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategic insights. Experience in a major big firm or a highly regulated industry especially

in Banking and Insurance is often beneficial.

 

The Project Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Ensure the successful planning, execution, and closure of projects and programs within the banking institution. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards, processes, and tools, as well as providing comprehensive support, reporting, and oversight to project teams and senior management. The ideal candidate will combine strong organizational and analytical skills with a solid understanding of project lifecycle methodologies and the financial services industry.

 

  • Superior ability to break down complex financial problems, identify key drivers, and synthesize information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Meticulous and thorough approach to data accuracy and report generation.
  • Proactive and innovative approach to identifying financial challenges and developing effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and achieve consensus across departments.
  • Ability to connect financial plans to the overarching business strategy, identifying how budget decisions impact long-term objectives.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and respond effectively to changing business needs and market conditions.
  • Manages a large multi-faceted project/account/campaign or multiple projects at the same time.
  • Uses best practice PMO methodology to create a project plan to fit the stakeholders needs and deliver within budget on desired outcomes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project management methodologies, standards, templates, and best practices in alignment with organizational goals and industry standards (e.g., PMI, Agile).
  • Ensure adherence to established project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures across all projects and programs
  • Establish and manage a robust project reporting framework, including dashboards, status reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for project progress, budget, scope, and risks
  • Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and resource utilization, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Articulates problems, bring the right people together to solve problems and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed 

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals
  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Azure DevOps, Clarity PPM).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data analysis and reporting, PowerPoint for presentations, Word for documentation, Visio for process mapping).
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, often involving the use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, and dashboard creation.
  • Experience with SharePoint or other document management systems for maintaining project artifacts.
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
  • Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.
  • Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them; clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required.
  • Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred
