Job Description

The Director – Go to market strategy & commercialization plays a critical role in shaping and delivering the strategic agenda for the business. This role serves as the central point of coordination for devising strategy, overseeing execution, establishing operational governance and developing a repository of best-in-class sales pitch material. The role ensures close alignment between global priorities, regional strategy, and in-market execution, working in partnership with the leadership team, regional support functions, market teams, and global counterparts.

  • Our mission is to develop partnerships with Global Financial Institutes, Merchants, Tech Partners in CEMEA and Acquirers in GCC. The team engages across multiple functions within the Visa organization to bring the very best of Visa’s expertise and assets to our clients - earning well-qualified wins to drive revenue growth while building trust and growing engagement and satisfaction among teammates, partners, and clients.

The nitty gritty:

Devise the strategic framework:

  • Drive the development and implementation of a multi-year growth strategy for the unit across CEMEA, with a long-term vision extending to 2030.
  • Translate global strategies and priorities into clear, actionable regional plans that ensure consistent execution and optimal delivery across all markets.
  • Use data analytics to pinpoint key growth drivers and prioritize focus accounts, enabling targeted strategies and measurable results.
  • Incorporate diverse perspectives from sub-regions and cross-functional teams to build a cohesive, effective regional strategy. Define, maintain, and communicate the regional strategic narrative, priorities, and focus areas, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Collaborate in the creation of annual operating plans by developing both financial and non-financial KPIs, forecasting, and facilitating regular performance reviews to drive sustained progress.

Commercialize and oversee execution:

  • Develop a robust framework for prioritizing the commercialization of new solutions across Core, VAS, and CMS for managed accounts in CEMEA.
  • Drive greater efficiency and accelerate speed to market by enabling region-wide implementation of strategic initiatives, moving beyond country-level rollouts for broader and faster impact.
  • Collaborate across sub-regions to set up deal structuring frameworks that support an aligned strategy, while also helping develop straightforward standard deal constructs for smaller deals.
  • Design, manage, and continuously enhance the performance management approach, including KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and portfolio-level insights.
  • Strengthen analytical rigor across the organization and embed data-led progress tracking into everyday management activities.

Establish operational governance:

  • Establish and oversee regional operating and governance processes, ensuring full alignment with global standards to drive consistency across CEMEA.
  • Optimes health checks for all financial and non-financial results to proactively identify and remove bottlenecks.
  • Produce clear, compelling executive materials, including leadership updates, business reviews, and strategic presentations for senior regional and global stakeholders
  • Enable effective leadership alignment and communication across the organization through structured forums and engagement

Thought leadership and leadership engagement:

  • Develop best-in-class sales pitch materials aimed at empowering generalists with robust, compelling content to support effective client engagement and sell-in.
  • Collate and maintain a comprehensive library of case studies and best practices to foster knowledge sharing and encourage reapplication across the region.
  • Collaborate closely with Visa Corporate Communications to strengthen Visa’s thought leadership profile in external media across CEMEA, with the strategic objective of creating greater business pull and market visibility.
  • Partner in the rollout of merchant-specific events throughout CEMEA, while also providing support for other client-focused events across the region.

Qualifications

What we’re after: Relevant Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is preferred for added depth and business acumen. Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and fluency in leveraging AI tools and agents. 12+ years of experience Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, utilize advanced data tools, and build robust financial models. Proven experience in large, complex organizations (multinational, regulated, or fast‑growth environments preferred) Ability to lead through influence, while interacting with senior stakeholders Prior experience in data analysis, finance, or consulting is considered a plus. Track record of building and nurturing relationships across multiple organizational levels, including C-level executives. Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a complex, cross-functional, and matrixed environment.
