Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support Finance transformation initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Finance User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ERP-enabled business processes. This role combines Finance domain expertise, business systems analysis, and hands-on UAT execution to support the successful delivery of Finance systems and capabilities, primarily across Autodesk’s SAP Finance landscape.
As part of a global delivery model, this role partners closely with Finance stakeholders, Project Managers, Engineering teams, Product Managers, and US-based testing leads. The position plays a key contributing role in Finance UAT, helping ensure that system changes meet business requirements, internal controls, and compliance standards. While this role does not own the UAT process, it is critical to executing high-quality testing, identifying issues early, and supporting effective collaboration across teams.
Most work is completed during local business hours; however, successful candidates will be flexible and engaged in joining select meetings during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours, particularly during active UAT cycles. Time shifting is not required, but presence during key discussions will support stronger outcomes.
This role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of three days per week working from the Autodesk Bengaluru office, supporting collaboration, learning, and Autodesk’s office culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Systems Analysis & Stakeholder Partnership
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Finance stakeholders across Accounting, Revenue, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, and Management Reporting
Partner with Project Managers to support planning, coordination, and execution of Finance system initiatives
Analyze current-state and future-state Finance processes to identify impacts, risks, and improvement opportunities
Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements through workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions
Act as a liaison between Finance and Engineering teams to support impact analysis, clarify requirements, and assist with defect resolution
Document and maintain business process flows, system impacts, and solution artifacts aligned to Finance transformation goals
Support change management activities by documenting and communicating Finance system and process impacts
Finance User Acceptance Testing (Strong Focus, Shared Contribution)
Serve as a core contributor to Finance User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, partnering closely with US-based test leads and Finance stakeholders
Develop and execute Finance-focused UAT test scenarios, test cases, scripts, and documentation aligned to approved business requirements
Design and execute test cases to validate accounting rules, financial postings, reporting outputs, and end-to-end Finance processes
Support mapping of business and functional requirements to UAT scenarios to ensure appropriate test coverage
Participate in workshops, design reviews, and demos to prepare for effective UAT execution and early risk identification
During active testing cycles, participate in select PST-hour meetings, including hand-offs, defect discussions, and status reviews, to improve collaboration and reduce cycle time
Collaborate with Engineering teams to review end-to-end testing results from a Finance perspective and provide targeted feedback
Clearly document defects, validate fixes, and perform retesting as needed
Maintain accurate and auditable test execution records to support release readiness and audit requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement of Finance UAT practices, tools, and documentation in partnership with global teams
Financial Systems & Accounting Expertise:
Apply strong accounting and Finance knowledge to validate ERP system behavior, financial postings, and reporting accuracy
Ensure system changes comply with accounting rules, internal policies, and Finance operational standards
Analyze system outputs and reports to confirm accuracy, completeness, and usability for Finance stakeholders
Support Finance data validation, reconciliations, and reporting activities during UAT
Validate that Finance systems meet expectations for stability, usability, and performance
Compliance, Risk & Controls:
Support UAT activities in alignment with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and Finance policies
Assist with SOX and audit-related testing by providing test evidence, documentation, and functional explanations
Identify and communicate Finance risks related to system changes, testing gaps, or deferred requirements
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
Professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA, or relevant Business Analysis or QA certifications are strongly preferred
Experience:
8–10+ years of experience across Finance, accounting, business systems analysis, and/or Finance-focused QA or UAT
Hands-on experience with SAP Finance modules, including Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) and Management Reporting (MR)
Proven experience supporting Finance UAT for ERP or large-scale system implementations
Experience working in global, cross-functional teams
Skills & Attributes:
Strong understanding of Finance and accounting processes
Solid knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Proficiency with business process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain Finance concepts to technical teams
Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative, adaptable, and focused on delivering quality outcomes
What Success Looks Like in the First 6–12 Months
By the 6–12-month mark, a successful candidate will have:
Built effective working relationships with Finance stakeholders, US-based test leads, Engineering partners, and Project Managers.
Developed a strong understanding of Autodesk’s Finance processes, SAP systems, and control environment
Consistently executed high-quality Finance UAT test cases with strong accuracy and minimal rework
Demonstrated the ability to identify issues early, document defects clearly, and collaborate effectively on resolution
Participated confidently in UAT-related discussions, including select PST-hour meetings during testing cycles
