Skills and Competencies

  • Strong people leader with experience managing people and projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hand hands-on proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, Gen AI tools (e.g. CoPilot) and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Python and Databricks is an added advantage

Education 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or related field

Responsibilities

The Assoc Director - Data Specialist is responsible fo ensuring a team executes in ensuring our data is well maintained and operationally cared for (often in different geographical locations). They are responsible for improving the quality, completeness, and consistency of the Moody’s Databases. This role involves overseeing managers and teams responsible for data remediation and enrichment processes, providing strategic guidance and operational oversight

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and act as a go-to resource for complex issues
  • Champion and embody an innovative, technology-driven mindset that balances strategic, big-picture challenges with the detailed needs of individual teams
  • Support and provide cover for other Associate Directors, Director or Senior Director during absences or on bespoke projects
  • Collaborate across locations, ensuring consistency and operational excellence within M&A
  • Collaborate across teams and datasets, ensuring consistency and operational excellence within Company Data
  • Serve as a bridge between Directors and Assistant Directors, supporting all managers as needed
  • Participate in second round hiring interviews
  • Advocate and role-model Moody’s values
  • Oversee end-to-end processes to correct incomplete, inconsistent, or duplicate entity data
  • Oversee validated and enriched data meets defined quality standards and governance requirements
  • Maintain clear documentation of remediation activities, rationale, and outcomes
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication for ongoing data remediation and enrichment initiatives
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on objectives, priorities, and resources
  • Track progress against milestones and proactively identify risks or bottlenecks
  • Monitor, measure, and report operational issues or opportunities to the Director
  • Collaborate with the Director on bespoke projects and provide cover during absences
  • Ensure Assistant Director duties are completed effectively, following TL handover plans
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve business processes across Company Data to enhance completeness, timeliness, accuracy, quality, efficiency, and output
  • Review sources in collaboration with other managers for large projects
  • Support Assistant Directors and teams, providing cover when required
  • Assist with tracking and coordinating unit-wide process or technology improvement projects, liaising with key stakeholders
  • Attend and actively engage in management, organizational, or technical meetings
  • Partner with key teams and cross-functional teams in order to reach our business objectives. This includes partnering with Sales, Content and Product Strategy, Engineering etc to develop knowledge on our customer’s use cases, understand business requirements and priorities to reach our business objectives
  • Oversee quality control measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of remediated data
  • Conduct periodic audits and collaborate with data governance teams to refine validation rules and data standards
  • Conduct periodic quality checks to maintain data accuracy and maintain uniform standards
  • Write technical proposals to make recommendations for data automations and process improvements. They will need to liaise with other team leaders on this when required
  • Leverage tools like Databricks and Power BI to enhance reporting
  • Explore opportunities to automate data collection and remediation through use of Gen AI tools including MS Co-pilot and Open AI
  • Stay informed about data management best practices and promote a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Coordinate work with Assistant Directors on projects or technical initiatives
