Job Details

The Credit Portfolio Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for conducting credit reviews, credit approval and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve issues and recommend solutions to moderate problems
  • Integrate specialty area knowledge with an understanding of industry standards and practices and how teams collaborate to accomplish goals of the sub-function/ job family
  • Serve as an industry expert and advisor
  • Analyze and approve counter-party credit limits for trading, transactional and financing businesses with funds
  • Develop risk management framework and processes for funds
  • Advise businesses and clients on transaction structures and negotiate credit terms
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in financial analysis, accounting and valuation
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

The Reporting Collections Portfolio Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Direct impact through close contact with the Strategy Team's core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams such as Operations, RPA and Control.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the analysis and preparation of reports for Internal Management that detail the collection status in Secured Portfolios and SME. Reporting can cover a variety of collections’ stages including but not limited to: portfolio delinquency metrics, RMT offers and bookings, exceptions, foreclosure inventory, USGAAP/MXGAAP indicators, etc.
  • Participates in preparing regular and time-sensitive deliverables to the different forums such as PQR, GRD, ROC, Monthly Book or audits and regulators.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of initiatives.
  • Provides information to Strategy Team and other stakeholders for global reviews, follow ups and ad-hoc related queries.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationship with Risk Management, Operations and other Control functions. Raise, investigate and follow-up on issues related to data quality, limit excesses, etc.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citibanamex, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years work experience in finance or a related control discipline (e.g. Risk Management, Financial Control, Audit, Operations, etc.)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential. Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to quickly develop intermediate/advanced knowledge of SAS/SQL.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis or a track record that demonstrates high aptitude to learn these skills.
  • Quick learner with excellent communication skills, team orientation within and outside the working area, and ability to prioritize and work with multiple deadlines,

Aditional Job Requirements:

  • Analytical Profile: Seeking a candidate with a strong analytical background.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAS and/or SQL. Python knowlegde is a plus.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in Risk or Banking sector is desirable.
  • English level: Intermediate.
