The Program:
At Medidata, interns will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by working closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For 12 weeks, beginning May 18, 2026, interns will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian. You will be contributing to the line of business with sustainable and meaningful work.
Our Summer Internship program also includes instructor led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership and community service. In addition to individual and specific related responsibilities, each intern will participate in our Intern Innovation Lab. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Medidata. As they work diligently to present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, we are confident that our interns will make a significant impact on our business.
About the Team:
As a Tech Sales Intern, you will learn hands-on about demonstrating the value of the Medidata Clinical Cloud, building clinical trials, and developing and implementing software demonstration strategies. You will get exposure to and play an important role in key strategic projects focused on the usage of AI, such as building tools within approved AI technology to assist the Tech Sales team in knowledge sharing, demonstration prep and learning. This role is also expected to be working cross functionally with other groups including Sales, Marketing and Operations.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of senior mentorship, you will contribute to key projects, focusing on:
AI Tool Development and Governance
● Develop and maintain internal, AI-based tools to facilitate team learning and the creation of compelling customer-focused presentations.
● Establish and document the process for ensuring these AI tools remain current, relevant, and fully compliant with internal Medidata standards.
Content and Demonstration Strategy
● Collaborate with the broader Tech Sales team on the education, management, distribution, and sharing of technical and strategic content.
● Partner with Sales and Marketing professionals to create, manage, and distribute customer-focused demonstration content and tools.
Cross-Functional Support and Systems
● Gather and relay feedback from the broader Sales organization regarding the internal AI tools to ensure they meet team needs and are continuously improved.
● Expand industry intelligence by attending virtual educational sessions focused on targeted clinical areas.
● Maintain and update critical business data (sales plans, accounts, and opportunity data) within company systems, including SalesForce, Highspot, Loopio, Google Gemini, and NotebookLM.
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline (junior or senior)
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong Technical Acumen and experience with using AI based tools including, but not limited to, Google Gemini and NotebookLM
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Interest in Technology Sales
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
- Collaborative work style
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel - preferred
- Comfort using Google G Suite – preferred
- Knowledge of clinical trials processes (Clinical trial monitoring, data management, study start up, risk-based quality management etc.) through industry experience and/or education - preferred
- Knowledge/Experience in pre-sales/sales engineering processes (Discovery, Demos, POCs, Value definition and modeling, RFP/RFI response)
- Experience and understanding of SaaS/Cloud technology
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in ((Location)) As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than ((Location)), may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base hourly pay range for this position is $((Amount)) an hour.
