Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management (“PWM”) provides highly customized financial advice, investment solutions and brokerage services to individuals, families and foundations. About the Role
As part of PWM, Assets Planning Group (“APG”) provides value added wealth planning services to our private clients. Range of services covering family office advisory, trust referrals and insurance referrals. Based in Hong Kong, APG team is seeking a highly self-motivated professional (Analyst) to support the Team’s regional function.
Key Responsibilities
- The role will report to the Functional Head based in Hong Kong.
- Handle and provide support to wealth planning enquiries (family office, trust referrals and insurance referrals).
- Engage in clients’ meetings and internal discussions with relationship managers and be able to provide general advice.
- Assist in various team’s projects – e.g. new insurance product approvals, develop marketing materials, on-boarding of external services providers, develop business strategies.
- The role should be able to identify wealth planning business opportunities and close cases independently.
- Experiences in insurance planning is a plus :
- Identify and capture insurance referral business opportunities with prompt follow up with relevant insurance companies and insurance brokers
- Engage end to end insurance referral services including client needs identification, solution recommendations and follow up
- Develop and expand strategically the wealth planning and insurance referral platform
- Build and maintain a positive team culture, through ensuring quality business referrals and referral skills among private wealth management.
- Familiar with insurance products in the Region and related regulation regime.
- To provide ongoing coaching and guidance to relationship managers on the products offered and the referral process.
- To act as a liaison between the relationship managers, their clients, trustees, insurance intermediaries, professional intermediaries on all wealth planning arrangement related matters.
- Need to meet business targets set by the Functional Head.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- The position is based in Hong Kong.
- University graduate in Finance or related disciplines preferred.
- Other related professional qualifications (e.g. TEP, CPA, CPWP, etc.) is a plus.
- At least 7-8 years’ of working experience as a wealth planner or related professional areas (e.g. trusts, insurance, tax/legal advisory) is highly preferred.
- Be willing to travel overseas to do meetings.
- Prior experience or exposure to private banking is a definite advantage.
- Good command of Cantonese, Mandarin, English.
- Good interpersonal, management and presentation skills
