Skills and Competencies
  • Minimum 8+ years of substantial credit and financial analysis experience. Strong analytical ability and technical skills in accounting, financial statement and cash flow-based analysis, capital structures and debt documentation
  • Strong knowledge and experience of corporate investment grade and high yield debt markets in Korea and an understanding of the key issues affecting these markets/the main players and key industry drivers
  • Intellectual curiosity, honesty, thoroughness, sound judgment and ability to work independently and in a team. Ensure a free exchange of perspectives in an inclusive and open-minded manner
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing in English and Korean
  • Good research writing skills
  • Outstanding people skills. Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent the Moody’s brand credibly and effectively.
  • Diligence, sense of ownership and ability to meet tight deadlines with high quality outcomes.
  • Adaptable, with a change mindset and willing to learn new technologies and tools. · Committed to continually learn and grow, authentic and passionate about caring for and inspiring others, engaging with multi-cultural awareness
  • Willingness to travel, as required
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for applying AI tools to improve processes and drive efficiency
Education
  • Strong academic background at least equivalent to MSc in relevant areas
  • CPA/CFA professional qualification would be beneficial
Responsibilities
  • Ensure ratings accuracy for the assigned portfolio mainly in Korea through rigorous and timely credit analysis. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of relevant sectors and issuers. Articulate robust credit views and make recommendations to rating committees. React promptly to new developments and market events.
  • Build and maintain high quality relationships with the senior management at the assigned rated companies
  • Publish topical, thought-leading, forward-looking research on credit issues affecting our rated companies and related sectors
  • Develop Moody’s Ratings franchise through intermediary visibility initiatives (e.g. investor discussions, conference participation, media interviews)
  • Coach and develop support rating associates
  • Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects, as required
  • Adhere to applicable codes of conduct, policies, procedures, regulations and best practices
  • Contribute to the roll-out of relevant digitalization initiatives
