Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
Global Accounting and Regulatory Policy Americas
Americas Accounting and Regulatory Policy is responsible for overseeing Morgan Stanley's interpretations of banking regulations as they apply to Basel-based regulatory capital and liquidity. In exercising these responsibilities, the Team produces the Firm's regulatory policies on Basel-based capital and liquidity requirements for the United States. The Team also provides regulatory advisory by engaging with stakeholders on matters of interpretation. The Team is also responsible for participating in and/or leading various governance committees, monitoring evolving regulations, and communicating key items to stakeholders, participating in industry and Firm advocacy efforts, supporting implementation of new regulations, including developing interpretations and reviewing public disclosures for consistency with regulatory rules and Firm policies.
Primary Responsibilities
This individual will be a member of the Americas Accounting and Regulatory Policy group and be responsible for supporting subject matters expert as it relates to Basel/Federal Reserve regulatory capital and liquidity standards, interpretations, and implementations of new regulations. Coverage areas will include, but not limited to, Counterparty Credit Risk as well as the Capital (Numerator). The individual will support the logistics for various firm governance committees, take part in regulatory advisory services related to new or complex transactions to advise on regulatory implications, and coordinate and communicate with the other regions to deliver cohesive global responses.
