The opportunity
We are hiring the Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability (HSE) leader for Trasfor production unit, to become part of the unit management team in Monteggio, Switzerland (Canton Ticino).
In this role you will work both operationally in the production and strategically with key initiatives to improve the HSE and environmental culture within the unit.
As an HSE Environmental Specialist in Dry Transformers unit, your main responsibility will be to ensure that our operations are safe for our workers, environmentally responsible and compliant with all internal and external policies and regulations. You will also play a critical role in developing and implementing safety and environmental programs to support sustainability initiatives within the company, and you will be the driver to report on progress and performance.

How you’ll make an impact
Coach, support and provide advice to managers and production employees on Health, Safety and Sustainability matters
Develop, implement, and administer environmental programs to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, standards, and policies
Develop, implement, and support practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
Support the effective implementation, continual improvement, and certification of ISO standards as well as taking an active part in improvement programs and practices to ensure an exemplary HSE-culture
Plan and carry out safety audits, investigate accidents and root causes and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities work to prevent their recurrence
Assist in the HSE risk management process in the unit with plant managers and production employees to support that all processes, equipment and tools used in production meet relevant safety standards
Engage external and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on HSE efforts and performance
Monitor and track environmental performance and report progress to management and regulatory agencies
Prior HSE experience, preferably from a similar industry
Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environment legislative requirements, better if related to Swiss laws and regulations
Good communication and influencing skills to address and build trust within the organization
Fluency in Italian and English is required, both written and spoken
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent, but it is not a requirement
Pro-active mindset to self-initiate actions and take decisions
