A conversation with Film Director, Abby Epstein.

Sixty years after the pill revolutionized women's liberation, the documentary "The Business of Birth Control" navigates the complex relationship between hormonal birth control and women’s health and emancipation.

This film, directed by Abby Epstein, narrates the feminist movement’s journey in investigating and exposing the pill's risks and the racist legacy of hormonal contraception.

The Business of Birth Control, reveals how a new generation is seeking holistic and ecological alternatives to the pill while redefining the meaning of reproductive justice.

During this chat we’ll talk about:

  • The role the pill took in women’s liberation
  • The side effects of hormonal contraceptives (which we rarely hear people talk about)
  • What does reproductive justice look like
