Career Connections 2023: Where Talent Meets Opportunity
In this talk with the co-founders of Launch LLC, we will explain what constitutes an offer of employment (it’s much more than base pay), and teach attendees how to evaluate an offer, craft a counteroffer that meets their unique personal and professional needs and wants, and pitch it successfully. A template (PDF) will be provided to reinforce the lesson and for attendees to use to evaluate any future offers they receive. Mindful of the fact that professionals in early career, and those pivoting into a new field or role, are less assured and often less comfortable advocating for themselves, we will also discuss the mindsets that can sabotage sound negotiating – and how to overcome them.
