DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Serves as first point of contact with customer to promote quality customer service and assist with increasing business within the branch location

We are looking for a talented Service Administrator to join our Distribution business in (West Sacramento, CA).

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers in person and by phone

• Create accurate work orders and gather required customer/equipment information

• Provide basic status updates and support customer inquiries

• Support technicians by documenting diagnostics, service steps, and parts information

• Maintain accurate records in service management systems

• Follow Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Support warranty documentation and escalate technical issues as needed

• Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and service excellence

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Experience working in a service or customer support environment

• Ability to translate customer concerns into clear work orders

• Strong documentation and data-entry accuracy

• Familiarity with service systems, diagnostic workflows, or repair processes

• Ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively with both customers and technicians

• Knowledge of warranty processes or ability to learn

• Demonstrated customer focus and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is responsible for processing and filing warranty claims, opening and closing service work orders including invoicing, and maintaining accurate service documentation. The role requires strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, effective customer service and communication skills, and experience in an administrative or service support environment. Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with service terminology is preferred to help better understand customer needs and support shop operations, but is not required.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
