We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environmental Tech - Level II to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in Manning, SC .

Job Summary:

Provides technical support on health, safety and environmental to production and site personnel under the guidance of the site HSE leader. Assists in the review and sustainability of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Strengthen the site’s HSE culture by consistently applying corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.

• Enhance hazard prevention by proactively identifying risks, stopping unsafe work, and ensuring timely reporting of incidents and near misses.

• Drive continuous improvement by supporting incident investigations and helping close corrective and preventive actions.

• Contribute to strong environmental performance through participation in environmental management programs and compliance activities.

• Improve operational awareness by gathering HSE data, supporting trend analysis, and communicating insights that build team-wide HSE understanding.

• Elevate audit readiness and compliance by participating in inspections, audits, and the maintenance of local HSE procedures and documentation.

• Protect company information and integrity by maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with data protection and retention standards.

• Support team performance and quality outcomes by following standard work, raising issues early, performing quality checks, and engaging in initiatives that improve safety, process flow, and employee development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build trust by understanding the needs of internal customers (operations, EHS leadership, engineering) and providing practical, compliant, safety centered solutions.

• Seek feedback, recognize strengths and gaps, and use reflection to continuously develop your HSE skills, judgment, and leadership presence.

• Apply root cause analysis techniques to create accurate, evidence based findings that lead to effective corrective actions and prevent repeat events.

Apply HSE Management System Standards

• Understand and use ISO/OHS/HSE frameworks to maintain compliance, support external certification, and strengthen operational discipline.

• Identify hazards, evaluate risks, choose appropriate controls, and ensure risks are reduced to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

• College, University or equivalent degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, or Sustainability preferred.

Experience:

• Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Provides technical support on health, safety and environment to production and site personnel under the guidance of the site HSE leader. Assists in the implementation, analysis, review and sustainability of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

• Support implementation and maintenance of hazard identification, incident investigation and risk assessment processes, including delivery of training.

• Participate actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

• Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems - Interpret and apply international standards through practical application within the operating environment to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification.

• Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

• Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrate the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement

• Working environment requires the use of personal protective equipment to include but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, aprons. Clothing or jewelry that is loose, baggy or dangling are not permitted
