The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Team profile and role overview

This Dublin‑based role sits within the Global Corporate Controllers and Planning (GCCP) organisation, specifically the Legal Entity Control (LEC) function. The successful candidate will join the Finance team leading critical Finance activities that support the Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) business across its European head office and branch network.

MSIM Fund Management (Ireland) Limited (MSIM FMIL) is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland as both a UCITS Management Company and an Alternative Investment Fund Manager. It oversees a broad suite of funds domiciled in Ireland and internationally.

Within MSIM FMIL, the Finance team is responsible for capital adequacy, prudent financial resource management, governance, reporting, and delegate oversight. The successful candidate will lead key elements of these responsibilities, working closely with the Head of Finance and the Designated Person for Capital and Financial Management.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the oversight of financial statement production for MSIM FMIL and funds under management, ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory obligations and internal accounting policies, while partnering closely with key functions—including Legal Entity Control, Fund Administration, Tax, Treasury and Regulatory compliance —to enable an effective delivery.
  • Drive capital planning activities, including monitoring and analysing regulatory capital and liquidity thresholds.
  • Oversee and strengthen the outsourcing governance framework to meet firm and regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare senior briefing materials, board packs, and governance reporting, ensuring clarity, quality, and strategic insight.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced service providers, ensuring timely and accurate regulatory filings, reporting, and governance deliverables.
  • Champion enhancements in financial controls, reporting processes, and oversight mechanisms, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving implementation.
  • Monitoring of financial and regulatory developments and driving the implementation of regulatory change impacting the Finance function.
  • Support the delivery of key finance and business initiatives, ensuring effective execution and alignment with organisational priorities.

  • Relationship Leadership: Proven ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate across functional and organisational boundaries.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy, governance, and high‑quality execution.
  • Planning & Organisation: Strong ability to prioritise, manage competing deadlines, and lead workstreams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • 8+ years’ post‑qualified experience, ideally gained within financial services or asset management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (UCITS, AIFMD, CP86) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong data analysis, financial reporting, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
