What a Consulting Manager, Visa Managed Services Acquiring Solutionsdoes at Visa:

We are currently looking for a manager to lead consulting engagements for our clients in Japan, supporting strategy and new business development in acquiring and merchant business.

The manager will lead engagements and act as the main focal point, coordinating between the client team, junior team members, other internal local / global stakeholders, and outsourcing partners (as applicable). The manager will be responsible for managing a key initiative between Visa and the client. The manager will be responsible for delivering projects with Visa quality.

A Consulting Manager is responsible for significant components of client engagements, and in some cases end to end delivery. Typically, this will involve interacting with the client team, gathering and managing project inputs, analyzing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.  The full range of responsibilities are detailed below

Responsibilities

  • Drive initiative development to support the client’s acquiring business growth using strategic consulting methodologies (setting key questions and hypotheses with deep quantitative analyses, and synthesizing recommendations) and aligning with internal stakeholders. Example areas of support include:

    • New business development / business strategy

    • Merchant acquisition strategy/ acquirer pricing strategy

    • New product / business / customer journey design

    • System PMO (From business requirements definition to implementation support) for cross-regional teams operating in both English and Japanese

    • Go to market strategy design

  • Drive high quality the delivery fully leveraging both strategic consulting and IT consulting PMO skills while managing team members and various subject matter experts, including data scientists, product specialists, client services representatives both in Japan and in overseas offices.

  • Manage the client relationships with both GMs and key frontline members to deepen the partnership.

  • Develop a fact base of the client processes, assets, and organization to determine future opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

  • Create, develop and maintain analytical models and methodologies to contribute to standardized VCA offerings and IP creation

  • Continuously build knowledge, surface new insights and produce thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development and global best practices

  • Manage administrative tasks and project setup including contracting documentation, internal reporting, and completion of compliance procedures.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
-Having already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be curious about the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team to quickly gain a deeper understanding. You will be client driven, comfortable managing a project end to end and relishing the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance.
-Specific skills and experience you will bring are
-Fluent Japanese and at least business level English proficiency
-Deep experience and a track record of high performance in strategy and IT consulting, or project management (over 6 years)
-Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
-Strong organizational skills and ability to navigate through ambiguity by adequately assessing trade-off impact analysis. Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.
-Self-motivated: able to work independently while coordinating activities with cross-divisional teams.
-Excellent detail orientation, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis
-Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
-Experience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from data
-Strong commercial acumen, with experience in developing business cases with proven ROI

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience in a professional services / consulting role is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills are required
-Experience in payments, the retail banking industry, or technology
-PMP certification or experience in technical project management
-Experience in customer experience design (using human-centered design / design thinking)
-An understanding of statistical analysis, modelling, scoring schemes, etc.
