DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The candidate can be located in the Greater Vancouver area, BC, Calgary, AB, or Pointe-Claire, QC.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the preparation of complex and interpretive financial analyses and reports. Supports the annual budget process, expense and/or staffing forecasts and statistical reporting.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Deliver complex financial analyses and reports that give management clear visibility into performance, trends, and emerging risks.
  • Produce high‑quality analyses, special studies, and reporting packages that support informed decision‑making at the leadership level.
  • Partner closely with business units to develop annual budgets, staffing forecasts, expense plans, and statistical reporting that align with organizational priorities.
  • Consolidate and interpret financial and statistical data—providing variance explanations, cost analysis, and performance insights that strengthen financial discipline.
  • Lead or coach less‑experienced Financial Analysts, elevating team capability and ensuring consistent analytical quality.
  • Strengthen financial planning processes by improving forecasting accuracy and ensuring data integrity across reporting cycles.
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing analytical depth, scenario modeling, and financial guidance that shape business recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Invest in your own development by pursuing new learning opportunities, deepening expertise in financial analysis, planning, planning, forecasting, and US GAAP, and expanding your business acumen.
  • Integrate financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting with a strong customer‑centric and globally aware mindset, valuing diverse perspectives to strengthen insights and drive better business results. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred. Experience: Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An intermediate level of relevant professional experience in the field is required. A range of 2 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Strong mastery of Excel and previous exposure to BI Tools (Essbase, Power BI, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual in English and French. The role will work closely with all Service Operations branches across Canada in both official languages, both for reporting, analysis, and forecasting, and also be instrumental in helping the Operations Leadership team and managers with branch performance improvement.
  • Business Partnership: Holds monthly meetings with business leaders in the Service.
  • Operations and Power Gen segments to explain the month's results. Helps drive business profitability. Support businesses with their working capital objective (inventory, A/R, and aged cash). Provide visibility into planned and executed capital spend.
  • Forecast/AOP: Work with the business to create a financial plan (forecast/AOP).
  • Supports the segment and Canada FP&A teams with analytical work with regards to Actuals, Forecast, AOP, and 5-year simulation
  • Accounting: Support QROR process to make sure data is accurate and the information is collected in a timely manner. Various Cost allocation Journal Entries.
  • Other ad-hoc analytical activities as required.

A graduate degree, university degree, or an equivalent diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. Progression towards a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or a similar qualification is preferred.

Can be based in the Greater Vancouver Area, or in Calgary, Mississauga, or Pointe-Claire.
