We are looking for a talented IT Scrum Master Supporting Engineering Projects to join our team specializing in IT for our CUMMINS in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Responsibilities include using Agile best practices to provide IT support for Engineering Projects
  • Provides the framework for Engineers to design, develop, test and implement software solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Supports the team by facilitating Scrum events and continuously seeking ways to enhance team performance and agility.
  • Understands system requirements, data flows, and processes to help define effective solutions.
  • Works with Engineering to ensure the software development process, product quality, and documentation are generated in a timely manner.
  • Leads the translation of business requirements into system specifications, architecture, and application requirements.
  • Provide program updates to the team as well as management. Owns the Scrum Board. Responsible for the quality of the user stories.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to deliver business value and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Responsible to manage the team JIRA site.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or related subject.
  • Advanced English Level
  • 5 years' experience as Scrum Master, preference in IT or research projects.
  • JIRA experience is required.
  • A successful scrum master is a facilitator and coach who ensures the Scrum framework is followed and helps teams improve their workflows.
  • Leadership: Scrum masters must exhibit leadership qualities without being authoritative. They lead by serving the team and facilitating their self-organization.
  • Effective communication: Clear and transparent communication is crucial. Scrum masters ensure all team members and stakeholders understand the project's status, goals, and obstacles.
  • Empathy: Understand and empathize with the team's challenges. Scrum masters need to support and motivate team members during difficulties.
  • Problem-solving: Scrum masters often deal with impediments and conflicts. They must be adept at problem-solving and finding solutions to keep the team on track.
  • Adaptability: Scrum masters should be adaptable and open to change. They need to adjust to the evolving needs of the Business, Team and project.
  • Facilitation skills: The ability to effectively facilitate meetings and scrum ceremonies is vital. Scrum masters ensure these events run smoothly and focus on the intended outcomes.
  • Coaching and mentoring: Scrum masters coach and mentor team members in agile and scrum principles, helping them continually improve.
  • Time management: Scrum masters must manage time effectively to keep the team on schedule and meet sprint goals.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • Desirable Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP )
  • Desirable Agile Certification (Certified Scrum Master - CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Safe Scrum Master Certification (SSM) are preferred.

Experience:

  • +5 years of experience as Scrum Master, preference in IT or research projects.
  • JIRA experience is required.
