We are looking for a several Material Handlers to join our team specialising in Manufacturing Logistics for our Cummins Engine Plant in Darlington , United Kingdom.

This is a full-time position on a temporary 3-month rolling contract.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week on a rotating 3-shift pattern:

  • Nights: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm – 6:00am
  • Days: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • Backs: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm, and Friday 6:00am – 7:10pm

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Under direct or close supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions, and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse.
  • Receive incoming goods, check for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
  • Accurately sort, label, and store goods while arranging storage to optimize warehouse space.
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
  • Pick sequenced kits for and line feed assembly lines.
  • Operate powered material handling equipment for example forklift trucks.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, identifying and reporting hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine housekeeping and machine care tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and support staff to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Engage in continuous training and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to detail to ensure inventory accuracy and quality control.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to HSE regulations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with warehouse tools, systems, and methodologies is an advantage.
  • Flexibility - Willing to cross train and work across the full campus. MHE training on a variety of equipment.
  • Warehouse Etiquette - Professionalism, adhering to HSE requirements
  • MHE experience preferred but not essential. In-house training will be provided.
