This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Fixed Income Investments and Client Activities team at Parametric:
- We are building financial software that models and supports some of the world’s most complex financial opportunities. This includes building solutions to provide customized direct index exposure while making tax sensitive asset selection to improve overall after-tax portfolio returns.
- We design and build financial software responsible for the account life cycle that starts with the onboarding of accounts, managing all client activities and investment instructions, and finally managing equity investment accounts at scale.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for individuals that have a strong curiosity and passion for learning new things, while continuously challenging oneself to build things better and more scalable.
The Software Engineer on the Fixed Income Investments and Client Activities team will be responsible for design, development, and integration of technology solutions to support all aspects of our equity investments platform. In this role, the Software Engineer will leverage new and existing technologies to build and maintain services that scale the platform, including on-prem systems and cloud native AWS micro services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Design and develop proprietary solutions for the Fixed Income account onboarding and client activities teams
- Design, develop, and maintain services and API to support various business needs
- Leverage scalable and distributed computing principles to build the next generation of services
- Ensures that software solutions remain integrated, efficient, and appropriate for a highly regulated industry.
- Create unit/integration/functional/performance tests
- Conduct code reviews of other developers
- Share experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve processes and productivity
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
SKILL SET
Required Experience: 4+ years
Skill set: Software Design and Development using .NET Core / SQL / any Cloud knowledge.
Primary Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience in C# .NET Core for software design and development, with practical knowledge of TDD.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, with at least 3+ years of experience.
- Solid experience in building and maintaining APIs, along with proficiency in working with Kafka.
- Working knowledge of any cloud platform (AWS preferred).
- Strong aptitude for designing efficient data structures and algorithms.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with business users and fellow developers.
- Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Scrum, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
- Demonstrated ability to become a subject matter expert in areas related to assigned work.
- A proactive, self‑confident individual with a strong “can‑do” attitude.
- Passionate, forward‑thinking, and creative, with high ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to collaborate within a diverse team, leveraging the strengths and unique skills of each member.
- Balanced assertiveness with empathy, fostering strong work ethics, open dialogue, and team success.
- Prior experience in the financial domain is preferred.
Good to Have Skills
- Front end libraries like React experience a plus
- NoSQL like Redis or MongoDB good to have.
- Exposure in using Copilot and other AI tools for development and reasoning.
