The Market Director is a senior leadership role within the Branch Network, responsible for driving growth and deepening client relationships across a defined market, aligning with Branch Network and Retail Banking strategies. This role leads the development of market-level strategies and initiatives for both Retail Banking and Business Banking, collaborating with sales and support teams to maximize growth and strengthen Citi's presence in key markets. Core Accountabilities include: • Driving strategies for market share growth. • Leading with excellence and maximizing branch network impact. • Achieving sales goals and financial objectives. • Managing staffing resources and overseeing expense management. • Ensuring rigorous risk and controls management. • Providing leadership to Area Managers, their teams, and Business Bankers, fostering a strong client experience and long-term client relationships. Business Priorities include: • Client Obsession: Cultivate a client-first culture by executing Branch Network strategies and leveraging client feedback (surveys, observations, and complaint analysis) for market-based planning. • Employee Experience, Talent, and Engagement: Implement comprehensive talent strategies, including development, hiring, staffing, managing budgets, and fostering robust Voice of the Employee (VOE) plans. • Risk and Controls Discipline: Ensure strong risk and control execution, promote adherence to policies and regulations, manage operational controls, and champion a culture of escalation and self-identification. • Business Growth: Drive market share growth, achieve business goals, and enhance sales performance by executing business growth strategies to elevate productivity. • Branch Network Optimization: Execute physical network strategies, leverage investments for an enhanced client experience, and lead market-level activations to drive growth. Key Responsibilities • Branch Network Strategy Execution: Execute the Branch Network Strategy within the defined market, ensuring achievement of market plans and goals. • Management Routines and Best Practices: Establish consistent management routines, share best practices, manage performance, and facilitate skill-building opportunities. • Talent Engagement and Performance Management: Lead talent engagement strategies, create a positive work environment, and oversee the Performance Management cycle. • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, coach, and develop Direct Reports and broader organization to optimize their effectiveness. • Branch Productivity Enhancement: Leverage tools, resources, and coaching to enhance branch productivity among Area Managers, Business Bankers, and Branch Managers. • Sales and Service Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to national priorities and disciplined sales and service management processes. • Market Share Growth: Drive activities to increase market share by acquiring new clients and deepening existing relationships. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration with key business partners, including Wealth and Mortgage. • Client Experience Champion: Champion the client experience, monitor feedback, foster a client obsession culture, and manage escalated complaints. • Change Agent for Branch Network Initiatives: Act as a change agent to drive Branch Network initiatives and ensure consistent execution. • Digital Capabilities and Client Engagement: Guide teams in leveraging digital capabilities and innovative client engagement strategies. • Risk and Control Management: Manage risk and control activities, including identifying areas for improvement and executing action plans to strengthen the control environment. Qualifications • Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience. • Proven experience in people management. • Extensive experience in sales management, retail banking, or a related business. • Demonstrated ability to manage customer feedback and satisfaction processes. • A track record of fostering teamwork, leading, coaching, motivating, and influencing teams and colleagues. • Successful history in sales, service, operations, and employee retention. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Strong presentation, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. • Proven capacity to address complex issues with thoughtfulness and urgency, inspire others, and maintain self-motivation and innovation. • A Change Leader capable of driving business model evolution through multi-level organizational structures. • An Agile leader adept at managing multiple business priorities in dynamic environments. Education • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent is required. • Master's degree is preferred
