As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to service every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets worldwide.
Reporting to the Director, SafeKey Product Team, the Manager of Digital Product Management will play a critical role in delivering the Network’s digital payment authentication strategy. This role is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join a team responsible for Safekey– an authentication solution that leverages the global industry standard, EMV® 3-D Secure, to detect and reduce e-commerce fraud through an extra layer of security when consumers shop online.
The SafeKey Product Team is a critical part of the NAS organization, and is accountable for leading the strategy, design, development, and ongoing management of Network products, services, and capabilities.
SafeKey is available globally to all American Express Merchants and Issuers providing our Partners with an Industry standard Authentication product to assist in improving Authorization levels via lower fraud risk. At the forefront of Strong Customer Authentication, our product aligns interfaces with over 200 vendors.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Manage outreach to new & existing SafeKey vendors to proactively support capability adoption and uplift
- Support the contract management and negotiations of SafeKey Vendors
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholder within Legal, Operations, Business, Info Security & Compliance Teams to manage contract exceptions
- Evaluation, review and update of existing contractual language to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the onboarding process
- Support the associated control & compliance activities related to contract management and develop robust tracking and reporting on contractual compliance
- Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement
- Lead and support the design of business processes, procedures, and policies related SafeKey.
- Prioritise features and backlog/solutions based on product roadmap and strategy.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for SafeKey leveraging indepth knowledge of industry practices and trends. Conduct extensive, strategic analysis to provide consistent and competitive recommendations.
- Facilitate the resolution of complex risks, issues, and changes tied to initiatives and process with broad impact to the product.
- Partner with Product teams to identify the case for new and existing firm offerings in the marketplace.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in Product Management, including the management of vendors and 3rd parties
- Outstanding communicator and influencer - Excellent written and oral communication/negotiating skills
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen and ability to think strategically and logically, and to structure & process information into meaningful and actionable recommendations
- High intellectual curiosity, with excellent creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative team player - Experience in leading cross-functional teams to manage and deliver on shared goals
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to autonomously manage several initiatives at once and drive results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change
- Comfortable adjusting quickly to shifting priorities and demands
- Flexibility in supporting various time zones, as this role supports global initiatives
