We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Responsibility Project Director (CARE Program) to lead the operational, financial, and project management excellence behind our CARE investments across 10 markets in 5 states . This role is deeply rooted in operational execution—managing the full financial cycle, overseeing grant administration and governance, and ensuring programs advance our commitments in community impact . To be successful, you must reside in one of the CARE regional locations ( MN, IN, MI, SC, GA, TN, NC, or TX , including Minneapolis, Detroit, Rocky Mount, Charleston, Nashville/Memphis, Columbus/Indy, Dallas, or Atlanta). This is an opportunity to drive meaningful change by ensuring our grants deliver measurable outcomes, reflect community needs, and uphold the highest standards of transparency, stewardship, and storytelling. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead day‑to‑day CARE operations by managing the full financial and grant cycle—including AOP planning, administration, approvals, and reporting—to ensure accurate, compliant execution across all markets.
  • Drive high‑quality governance and decision‑making by evaluating grant proposals, assessing alignment with strategic focus areas, understanding co‑funders and impact potential, and ensuring transparent, accountable processes across all investments.
  • Strengthen program outcomes and equity impact through proactive engagement with grantees, monitoring progress, identifying risks, elevating concerns, and ensuring investments—to deliver meaningful, measurable results.
  • Build alignment and influence across a matrixed environment by guiding regional teams, community partners, and leaders toward shared priorities, often without formal authority, and navigating complex, non‑hierarchical structures effectively.
  • Integrate social impact with enterprise strategy by applying a broad organizational perspective that connects CARE objectives to business priorities, risks, and long‑term value creation for both communities and the enterprise.
  • Enhance transparency and storytelling by translating financial, operational, and program data into clear, compelling narratives and updates that build understanding and trust with internal leaders, regional teams, and community stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong operational and project management excellence, including experience managing large‑scale projects, navigating complex information, making informed decisions, and maintaining high attention to detail across multiple markets.
  • Financial and systems fluency, with the ability to manage budgets, analyze grant data, and confidently use platforms such as Blackbaud, Ariba, and Excel to evaluate requests, track spending, and support governance processes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder collaboration and communication skills to build trust with diverse communities, nonprofit partners, family foundations, internal leaders, and regional teams—while clearly conveying expectations, risks, and insights.
  • Cultural competence and adaptability, with the ability to engage authentically within diverse communities, ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and ensure decisions reflect lived experience and equitable impact.
  • Leverages platforms, data systems, and emerging technologies to improve program tracking, reporting, and engagement – Digital and IT Savvy.
  • Navigates ambiguity and evolving priorities with resilience and flexibility
  • Ensures accuracy, compliance, and consistency across complex programs and funding structures.
  • Translates complex impact data into compelling narratives for senior leaders and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • 7-10 years of Project Management Experience
  • Ability to lead at the intersection of business strategy and social impact, applying systems thinking, equity‑centered leadership, and a strong enterprise mindset to drive sustainable, measurable outcomes.
  • Proven partnership governance and stakeholder leadership, establishing clear expectations, transparency, and mutual accountability while influencing across regions, partners, and leaders without formal authority.
  • Strong digital and IT fluency with experience leveraging platforms, data systems, and emerging technologies to enhance grant management, reporting, and program visibility.
  • High adaptability, analytical thinking, and disciplined execution to navigate ambiguity, ensure accuracy and compliance, and manage complex funding structures and decision processes.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills to translate complex financial, operational, and impact data into compelling narratives for senior leaders, partners, and community stakeholders.

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
