Position Details:
Location: 152 Second Avenue, Needham, MA 02494
Department: Laboratory
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm.
As directed, provides technical guidance, support and workflow direction to histotechnologists, histotechnicians and other laboratory support personnel. Manages day-to-day workflow and ensures turnaround time requirements are met. Performs and assists in a variety of standard and specialized laboratory procedures and tests. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Provides exemplary service and is a role model for staff. Works in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff; train and cross-train team members on technical procedures
- Schedule staff coverage to ensure efficient, high-quality patient service
- Oversee technical processes, quality control, and participate in Quality Assurance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues; address clinical and patient concerns
- Assist with departmental functions, including writing/revising procedures and acting as supervisor when needed
- Perform histology laboratory procedures and support other lab functions as required
- Foster a collaborative team environment and communicate departmental issues promptly
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or graduate of an accredited histotechnology program
- ASCP certification as a histologic technician (HTL) or equivalent
5+ years of histology experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some supervisory or leadership experience
- Functioning knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, physiology, and experience in enzymes histochemistry and immunoperoxidase stains
- Proven ability to perform accurate, reliable and high level work quickly and under pressure
- Demonstrated good hand eye coordination and the ability to work with delicate instruments and automated equipment
- Demonstrated ability to function with minimal technical supervision
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, leadership potential
- Exercises good judgement in routine and non-routine situations
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend situations with minimal explanation
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
