Major Responsibilities
The Software Development Engineer will be responsible for developing React Native Application. We expect your work to demonstrate a strong technical background and a commitment to writing concise, scalable code. You will collaborate with fellow engineers to share knowledge, design, develop, test, and deploy React Native mobile applications. Additionally, you will help coordinate with development partners to ensure features are released on time and within budget. You will modify existing React Native software to fix errors or enhance performance when necessary.
About the Role:
- Demonstrate best in class software engineering skills to develop secure, tested, optimized, and scalable React Native Apps.
- Build reusable React Native components and screens that follow established design patterns and coding standards.
- Implement React Native features by integrating with backend APIs, third-party SDKs, and native modules.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, DevOps engineers, QA engineers, and other teams to solve technical challenges and implement new features.
- Write clean, maintainable React Native/JavaScript/TypeScript code that other engineers can easily understand.
- Debug and troubleshoot React Native applications using tools like Flipper, Metro bundler, and native debugging tools.
- Identify and resolve the root cause of software defects in React Native applications.
- Identify and document product architecture and solution design for React Native implementations.
- Write unit and integration tests using React Native Testing Library.
- Communicate clearly and effectively via GitHub, Slack, MS Teams, ADO etc., to keep all stakeholders in the loop on relevant issues.
- Work with central technology teams to establish and adhere to React Native best practices.
- Comply with all professional departmental and company best practices.
About You:
- 3-5 years of experience in mobile application development with at least 2-3 years of hands-on React Native development.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for React Native development.
- Proven experience building and shipping React Native applications to Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Solid understanding of React Native fundamentals: components, props, state, hooks (useState, useEffect, useContext, custom hooks), navigation (React Navigation), and state management patterns.
- Experience with React Native styling (StyleSheet, Flexbox) and responsive design for multiple screen sizes.
- Working knowledge of native mobile development languages (Kotlin and Swift) for troubleshooting native issues and implementing simple native modules when required.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including design patterns, code reviews, source control management (Git), build processes, testing, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in working with APIs, including hands-on experience consuming and integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs into React Native applications.
- Experience with React Native third-party libraries and package management (npm/yarn).
- Familiarity with React Native build tools and processes: Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle, CocoaPods.
- Experience with React Native debugging and performance tools such as Flipper, React DevTools, and Chrome debugger.
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and their integration with React Native applications.
- Solid understanding of Design Systems, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) principles in mobile context.
- Knowledge of in-app advertising and digital subscriptions implementation in React Native.
- Experience in application performance benchmarking, optimization, and monitoring for React Native apps.
